My dog won't eat, sick with pancreatitus, been on baytril not responding
My 13 yr old Westie has acute pancreatitus. She's not responding to baytril. She's not eating and has lost a lot of weight. Given her appetite stimulants - but not working. Is there something else that is effective other than baytril? How do I get her to eat?

What does your vet say about this ?

Pancreatitis is extremely painful. This dog should be hospitalized and on pain medication.

Have they done an ultrasound to take a look at it? One of my dogs recently experienced this and didn't respond to managed care either. Ultrasound revealed a serious issue with her pancreas and she required surgery. She spent two weeks in vet hospital when all was done.

This is something I'd definitely discuss further with your vet. If the vet isn't giving the proper treatment, or suggestions for treatment that work, I'd get a second opinion.

I hope your dog feels better soon. Good luck, and please keep us posted on how she's doing.
