Biulding a new home told by the city I will only have 15 lbs water pressure as I am to close to the city water tank.. what's the best way to fix this problem use... inline booster pump or use a booster pump and a bladder tank in the basement?? Thanks for any ideas and help... Bob

How high is that water tower? The average water tower's is 100 feet high and the average city pressure's approximately 45 PSI. The head pressure of water is .433 pounds per foot of head. Do you live in a city that only has a 35 foot water tower? It's the city responsibility to furnish its water customers with water they can use. 15 PSI isn't water that you can use. Even if their tower was only 35 feet high they would have to have a pumping station to raise the pressure in the mains to be usable. Since you will take your water off a city main , telling you that you live too close to the water tower just doesn't make sense. Something doesn't add up here and if I were you I'd get some answers. And when you do please let me know. To answer your question, you would have to treat that 15 pounds like a well and install a shallow well pump and a bladder tank to furnish your house with pressure.
