    Food Stamps
There is a elderly lady 86 years old. Her son is 40 years old and is her primary caregiver.
The son receives food stamps, but under the new able body law in 2016 we wonder if he will be eligible to continue the food stamps. They have a letter from social security showing the lady was declared disable. In Florida a caretaker is exempt from the able body law.

She had him when she was 46?

Can he prove he is her caretaker?

That is what I am wondering. What prove would they need?

Does he have a signed POA? Does her doctor acknowledge her son's caretaker status and would document that?

No POA. So they may asked a letter from her doctor, that she needs a caretaker
Will have to wait and see. Thanks

I am wondering, if perhaps, under low income, they can not get a care giver that is paid by welfare (I know one of my ex wife used to do this work) And the son work at a job paying a better wage, to provide for future.

Being disabled doesn't always mean needing around the clock MEDICAL care, but having someone around all the time is essential for the well being and safety of the elderly. Being a caregiver can be MORE than a full time job.
