There could be some damage to the drum, but try this first: take tissue paper and get it wet with warm-to-hot water, and dig it in the ear canal. I'm hoping that it just moved some ear-wax in the right place. This warm tissue paper will help clear it out.

If you suspect the ear drum might be broken do not pour anything in it! From your syptoms this could be the case so please go to a doctor and get it checked. Do not do as Xenosapien suggests you could cause permanent injury if you have perforated your ear drum.

As a general rule never put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.

    EDIT
    Perforated Eardrum

Well, don't JAM it in your ear. Only as deep as you can tolerate. Make sure you have no choice but to spend the hundreds of dollars for a doctor first.

It virtually certain that your ear drum has been perforated. In that case there is "NO TREATMENT" (in terms of medications) to heal the perforated drum. It will heal spontaneouly. Also traumatic perforations almost ALWAYS heal.
There are some precautions though. Prevent ANYTHING from entering the ears. (esp during shower the water might seep in). Avoid catching a cold or else the infection will go to the ears and you will end up having an infected perforation which at the moment is clean. At that stage you might have some ear discharge and you would need some medications. The perforation will take close to 3 weeks before it completely heals on its own. That is when your hearing will become normal.
You might want to see a doctor if you are intending to press charges. In that case you will have medical proof.

Remember good old Thomas Edison and his hearing problem? Well, when he was a young boy around 10 or 12 he got hit in the ear very hard by his boss when he worked on the railroad. Thomas never heard anything out of that ear for the rest of his life.

Have a doctor look at your ear to determine the damage. I am glad that you can hear something out of it now. It just may heal itself and come back to full hearing.

AS Templene suggested DO NOT INSERT ANYTHNG IN YOUR EARS... usually when you are slapped hard thr are chances of ear drum damage... if it's a perforated ear drum then I suggest you see the ENT before doing or waiting for anythng... as your ears are precious... imagine a day, no just try an hour putting ear plugs... can you stand it?. never..! Hearing is needed every second!! Consult and ENT immediately!!

Well its only temporary though,And the rare move is called the Ear Slap, slightly cup your hand or don't(I its more painful to cup it)and slap their ear(s) hard. They'll start to hear a ringing noise or'll be deaf for a while. If it Doesn't go away contact your doctor or physician. They'll figure it out.

I actually just took a hit by a raquetball at around 140 mph and it rang VERY loud just after it happened. I couldn't really hear or get a sense of balance. The hearing out of that ear was muffled to almost the point I couldn't hear at all. I just got home and its been 2 hours since it happened. I have the same ringing nioce in my ear and sounds are Extremely loud(it hurts to even type). My buddy said the same thing happened to him and He was back to normal in 2 or 3 days. I'll keep updating and let you all know how long it takes to feel better and hear right again.

I got slapped in the ear and I can hear completely. But there is a very different frequency of sound I am hearing from that ear. The sound is heavier and I feel continuous sound of vibration as if there is wind blowing. I have no pain and no hearing loss. Will it get all right on its own or I need to see a doctor ?

The same thing happened to me. I got slapped in the hear really hard and now I hear muffled sound, feel like I am hearing underwater. I will take the advice everyone above has said and I hope it heals on its own.

P.S. never let a stripper slap you, they have bad aim and now I am paying for it.

It happened to me a couple days ago by sum drunk, everything sounds horrible starting to get to me now and its baking hot weather the 2 together doesn't help, but I wouldn't suggest putting anything in your ear either the body heals its self pritty good most the time if your hearing doesn't come back ina week do what I'm going to do see a nose throat and ear specialist, if its permanently damaged then get the law involved.
