    "I have a Drain!" I need a vent.
I wanted to get some opinions on where I should run my vent between a sink and a shower - from 2 different attached basement bathrooms.

Below is the CAD drawing showing where the stack is (purple dot), the sink drain (royal blue dot) and the shower vent (light blue dot) as well as the pipe that will connect the 2.

The reason that shower vent is there is because we switched from a tub/shower to a shower only, put a tee in there and figured we could use that as a vent. However, there is a shelf above that vent now and I'd rather not vent from there (#1).

Where should I put the vent between the sink and the shower? I have put numbers in there for easier referencing. I was hoping to put in where #2 or #3 is... Possible?

There is both a 4" as well as an 1-1/2" pipe going up through the floor. The 1-1/2" serves the bathroom sink on the left.

Can I assume that I can tie into that 1-1/2" pipe for ventilation?

    Many thanks,

    Darrin
