Check with your local high school. If you're in the Chicago area (Cubs2016!!!! Yay, Cubs!), there are good resources for you. If you don't latch onto them, post again.

Most larger locales have free GPS classes. Check with a High School near you. The local Methodist Church has a sign "Free ESL and GED classes".

There is no grant or free GED test, that you will have to pay for. But there are many free classes in larger cities, and often your social worker (if very low income) will have training assistance for you.

There is no real "grant" that is paid to you.
