When watching VHS movies on our flat screen TV there is this annoying Hour, Minute and second time counter running across the top of the screen. There is also a white arrow and the letters SP next to the time counter.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get rid of this annoying display.
Your help will be very welcome.

This is normally driven by the VHS device.

I'd look for a button on the VCR or its remote labeled "Display" or something similar.
Multiple presses should change what is shown on the TV screen.
