    CaCO4... this appears to be a type of mineral, but are you sure it isn't CaCO3? CaCO4 appears to be a mineral called aragonite, similar to calcite, which is CaCO3. Aragonite can be used in construction of steel and cement, as it is a minor constituent of limestone.
