    Breaking Mirror
Where did the if you break a mirror that you would have 7 years of bad luck come from.

Do any of you believe that still, even in today that it is bad luck to break a mirror?

Oh, yes, most definitely, jenniepepsi. I come from a long line of old hag scottish women (my husband keeps reminding me) and these old superstitions were instilled in me from an early age. I still can't walk under a ladder.

    You betcha !

    Hugs

Yep, very very bad things will happen if you break a mirror.

And you can't do anything to avoid them, so you carry on as normal :)

I still say this ol'hag will never ever recover if it broke a mirror. My scottish ancestors will never forgive me if I forget that.

    Sorry chuck

I am supersticous up to a point.. don't walk under ladders.. don't put up an umbrella indoors.. don't put new shoes on the table.. if you spill salt, throw some over your left shoulder and so on.

I did break a mirror several years ago... that indicates 7 years of bad luck... which I've most definitely had in abundence.

Is it myth! Most probably but we all try not to go against these myths... just in case

Well, Jesushelper, people say if you believe then when things do go wrong, they take it as evidence, if you don't, then you forget about it. Like with pregnant women looking at a rabit, which they say will give the baby a harelip. Something's are common sense, other things not-so-much. As for me, I don't believe in luck, it leaves too much to chance.

How about someone who works in a glass and mirror shop? For every mirror you break is the seven years bad luck concurrent or consecutive?
