    OPT - H1B Taxes question & Multiple W2's
    Hello,
I was OPT from Jan 2012 to 31st Sept 2012.

    I was H1B from 1st Oct 2012 to 31st Dec 2012.

I was with consultant A from Jan 2012 to November 2012.

In my OPT period my salary changed once.

    So now I have 3 W2's (2 OPT, 1 H1B) from consultant A.

I joined Full time from November 2012 and I have 1 W2 from Company A.

    Total I have 4 W2's.

Question is how do I file my 2012 taxes. I am single and do not pass substantial presence test as I was not on H1B for 180 days in 2012.

    Thanks

File nonresident tax return. You can claim itemized deductions. You do not get standard deduction.

You will probably file Form 1040NR-EZ (or 1040NR), plus Form 8843, plus the state return for each where you worked and/or live.

If you believe that you will need professional help filing this year, this IS what I do. Please double-click on my name (Atlanta Tax Expert) above to access my profile. You will find my email address in the signature portion of the profile (scroll down to the BOTTOM of the page).

Thank you. I will file 1040NR-EZ and 8843 as I have been doing for past couple of years on F1 visa
