I'm currently in the job market and nailed an interview today for a casino position (If that's relevant, certain labs they use?) Anyway I found out after the interview that I'll have to take a hair follicle test to get the job. It didn't really worry me.. at first.

After reading through threads and getting stressed, I stumbled across this website where you've previously answered these questions before. The reason I'm asking is because the threads I saw were from 2010-2012, and maybe hair follicle testing has advanced since.

Now to the serious part:
The last time I've smoked was about 45 days ago (2 hits), before that about 4 months ago (2-3 hits).
I know they test back 90 days, and I'm debating whether to cut my hair a little shorter to help my cause.

About me:
5'9 170lbs, thick shorter dark hair.
Have been chewing tobacco for the past 5 years as well.

I'm stressing hard on whether I'll pass this drug test or not. I've been stuck in the same demoralizing job for 3 1/2 years and this could finally be my ticket out.

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated, I'm stressing so hard over this. Looking for just a tiny peace of mind.

Hair tests detect chronic use. Your occasional use will not show up. I would not cut the hair on your head as it will only go back 90 days and you should be fine in that time frame. If you cut the hair on your head, then they will take body hair , which can go back much further.

A hair drug test is meant to show consistent use over time. A 1.5 inch sample, cut at the scalp line, will go back 90 days. Body hair has a different growth cycle so the time frame of detection is about 9-12 months. A total of 5 hits of marijuana won't show up on a hair drug test. I am not sure cutting your hair is a goods idea. Some employers might see that as someone trying to hide something. You could also have your own hair drug test done anonymously to be sure, that's if you have time before the casino is going to do their test. Keep in mind if you do get the job they will most likely do random drug testing.

You are stressing yourself unnecessarily, just relax and take the test and you should pass easily.
