The answers are correct. This is referred to as a 419 Scam... Google it. They will soak you for all they can and you will never get anything out of it.

Actually the lottery scams are their own type of scams, not part of what's called the 419 Nigerian scam.

Look it up... Lottery scams are lumped in with 419 scams because A) the majority of them originate from Nigeria and B) they soak you for all they can in "fees" and such with the promise of a payout. These are all also known as "Advance Fee" scams. Yes, the originating letter is different but both are designed to make you pay out to get a promised sum of money.

But as noted it is a scam, a real lottery does not ask you to send them money.
