I naturally have a hair color that's between dark brown and light brown but isn't chocolate brown.

I got dark blonde semi-permanent hair dye at Walmart and really blonde highlight semi permentant hair dye at Walmart, and let's say my color was so orange, I looked like Bozo The Clown.

My dad took me to a salon that cost 70$ to dye over it a caramel color. Less than a month later roots came back, and it had an orange tint, so I died it Ashbrown with home hair dye.

A month later, my hair color is about an inch of roots and I have a mixture of the orange and dark in my hair. My friend calls me a tiger because its brassy at the top but dull at the bottom and no hair color at the roots with racing stripes.

I tried dying it back, and it keeps going to the orange color I accidentally dyed it. I can't wait any longer because I look like a freak! I need a product that will take out the hair dye but leave in my natural hair color without damaging my hair, or removing the natural pigments.

Hi... If it were me, I would go to a professional salon, and explain your problem to see if they could help. It would probably be much easier and you would get a much better result, with less damage to your hair. I had to have dye "stripped' from my hair several months ago, from where I had been dying it for at least 6 yrs. I am very pleased with the result. That's the best solution I know.

First of all, you can't remove color with a store bought hair color, and leave behind your natural shade. Hair colors work by first removing natural hues only up to the level of developer you have chosen. Boxes of store bought color typically have 20 volume developer in them. The high lift varieties(like summer blonde) can have up to 40 volume developer in them. Each 10 volumes of developer can lighten your hair 1 shade. So those boxes of color are only going to change your own hair up to 2 shades lighter. I recommend finding a color you like, and sticking with it. When you get new roots, only apply the color to the new growth to do a "root touch up". This way your hair will stay in the best condition possible.

Just go to a professional it's the best thing you could do those do it yourself things don't work trust me it'll just damage your hair more.. I mean you wouldn't want your hair to fall off...

A semi permanent colour will not lift much as it is meant to rinse out so that's where your problem started, box dyes use a high peroxide (activator) to ensure it is suited to msot hair colours but this does not work so you are better sticking to darker colours for box dyes or going to a salon, if you dye your hair once, you either have to maintain it best to your ability or use a salon

This recently happened to me I had to go to a professional salon but they said I could do it with just bleach then dye it my natural couler

As soon as you dyed your hair, your natural color was lost, I'm afraid. If you really want this problem fixed right away, you have two options, and both will require you to at least wait until there is no color bleeding from your hair, or it will just cause an awful mess of color. Your first option is go to a better store and get fully permanent hair dye as close to your natural color as possible, and as Amanda58 up there said, get the root touch up kits to keep up with any show through as it grows back in. This is probably your best bet.

Your other option is to get harsh bleach that will strip it down to flat blonde, and start over with a color a couple shades darker than what you're looking for. Again, go for fully permanent, or it will eventually wash out to the blonde. Two hangups with this course of action: 1) harsher bleaching will require hair maintenance for awhile and good thick conditioners to make sure it doesn't go brittle, and 2) You said your most recent color was ash brown. Ash colors involve blue hue that may leave your stripped hair with a chlorine green tint.

Simple answer for you! Toning shampoo. You can find it in any beauty supply store and even some Walmarts carry one or two brands now. The product itself should be purple, though some come in black.

For the best and fastest result, start with dry hair and saturate the blond part with the straight toning shampoo. Leave it for about ten minutes, then rinse it and continue with your normal washing and conditioning. This product will fade the yellow out pretty quickly. Once it's the color you want it, hold on to the rest of it, because sometimes your yellow will return, if this happens, just use it once in awhile like normal shampoo. DO NOT overuse this stuff though past getting your yellow out, as it WILL turn lavender.

I've read over a few of the paras, so sorry if I've not got the totally correct answer.. But to fade out permanent dye, no matter how long it's been dyed, put head and shoulders on you're hair over night with a bag over you're head, it's worked wonders for me :) hair may be a little dye after so just make sure you condition it

I had a similar problem to yours in the past, I used head and shoulders shampoo to remove the hair dye and go back to my natural hair color, all I did was apply the head and shoulders shampoo to my dry hair and cover it with a shower cap (you can use a plastic bag if you don't have a shower cap) and leave it for 20 minutes, I left mine for 20 but the longer the better and then rinse, I had to do this a few times to my hair before the color was completely gone, its much cheaper then going to a salon and paying a ton of money and its not damaging to your hair since its only a shampoo, this worked great for my hair, I hope it will help your hair the same way it helped mine if you choose to do this.
