Is the latest version of the IMac worth getting? We just got the next latest version but I got an email the new Imac has been released. The Apple store is being very nice about - trade it in for the new version or get $300 refund. Any thoughts on what we should do?

What version of the iMac do you currently have? If not sure how to find out, go to the Apple logo at the top left, select about this mac, and then select more info. Read off the Model Identifier to me, it might say something like 9,1 etc..

Reason being, if you have an iMac from 5 years ago, then yes this new iMac is worth getting. If you have just the most recent one before the new one just came out, then it just depends on what you're using it for and if you need some of the newer/upgraded technologies. Provide me some details if possible.

Thunderbolt is the big selling point, but Thunderbolt drives are not yet available and the cost will be high. Unless you are moving a lot of large files there may not be a great upside. At this time there is little reason for someone to update from the last version to the latest and greatest.
