Does the U.S. president have authority to postpone elections?
In an emergency/disaster/war, can the president of the USA postpone or reschedule national elections?

    Hi, hentch!

Please click on the following link. There is some information towards that bottom of it concering the Executive Branch of government.

    http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/RL32471.pdf

I don't know if it's the most up-to-date information. But, at least it's a start.

Another way to find out, would be to speak with a librarian at the reference desk of a public library.

    Thanks!

So,in summary, the president doesn't have such authority at least as of the date of the memorandum linked.

    Hi, AK lawyer!

According to that document, I believe that to be correct.

Do you have any other information?

    Thanks!
