    Clogged laundry basin, overflow pipe
Hi I've had problems with laundry sink(basement) we have the washer draining in it and it's overflowed several times. I tried to snake the overflow pipe but I believe there is a solid dirt plug, my guess is maybe tree roots or something. Also there is limited working space because of cabinets installed above sink. I don't even know if I am using the snake right. It is one with a movable handle on it I am not sure if I am turning it right, besides I don't know if it would be strong enough. I tried to get the pipe cap of but it's stuck.

    Hi Mom,

A hand held snake just ain't going to get it. You need a sewer machine, (see image) and you have to go down the laundry tray roof ventto reach the clog. Put out enough cable to get to the base of the vent and about 20 feet more. After you clear the clog cycle the washer to flush out the drain line. Good luck, Tom
