    Pregnancy after tubal ligation
Has anyone heard of someone getting pregnant twice after a tubal ligation?

I have heard of getting pregnant once. My mother did, and I have a brother because of it.

Now, it is possible. Many doctors now will not do a tubal until 6 weeks after baby is born. The reason behind this is that the majority of the swelling from pregnancy has gone down and the tubes can be cut and tied off more efficiently.

Now, if the tubal was only tied and not cut, maybe done immediately after the birth, it is possible.

A specialist can take x-rays to determine if in fact the tubes are still cute and tied and not regrown.

This question is a very interesting one, seeing as I had a tubal 2 years ago. I was told that they were cut and burned. J_9 are you saying that its possible for this stuff to grow back together? If so all of us who have had this done are in trouble!! I did here that the risk for an ectopic is more prevalent after a tubal.

While it is possible, it is relatively rare. If you were cut and burned the risk is next to nothing, but anything goes with the human body.

Yes, the risk is higher for an ectopic, but not alarmingly so.

No, we are not all in trouble. It is more rare than you think it is, but it is possible. Like I said, the human body is remarkable in what it can do.
