How can I slow down from ejaculating too soon
  • Mar 27, 2009, 07:31 PM
    nikosmom

    Condoms help some guys.
Some say when you feel you're getting close, stop and let yourself calm down and then resume after you've leveled out.
Sometimes, even thinking about other non-sexual things to divert your attention. (I hear Rosie O'donnell is a popular for this) :)

Hopefully some guys will come along with more "personal" input. :)

I agree with nikosmom, condoms might help...also use the "stop and start" method, where you slow down, or stop before you get the the "point of no return"...wait a second, then start again...you can build up and build up...

Masturbation can teach you that the goal of sexuality is to ejaculate quickly. Practice holding off when you masturbate... cool off before you resume. Cut down on excessive masturbation, too.

Don't judge yourself by porn. Porn is fantasy sex sold to give men quick orgasms by masurbation. It has a deleterious effect on *young* men's sexuality according to preliminary studies.

Have a real sense of h ow long you last stroking during intercourse... use a stopwatch if necessary, or some kind of accurate timer. A man need not last more than five minutes, three minutes is fine if a woman has developed herself and her orgasmic potential into reality. Again, according to studies.

    Best wishes, :)

Some guys masturbate before they have sex especially if they haven't had sex for a while. Not sure but maybe that could help.

    Comment on Choux's post
    1. When did the OP mention masturbation OR porn? 2. Did you actually tell him to TIME his sex??

Where is masturbation mentioned in the original post? Some people don't masturbate for various social/religious reasons.

    Way off base.

Second pop always takes a lot longer than the first... that and condoms work until he learns mental games to hold back. I'm a guy for those not aware.

I do agree with choux on this one...

***is that one of the seven seals broken? A sign of the end of times? ***

Uh... anyway... a man can train himself through self stim to some degree. He can train himself to respond to his hand but he can also train himself to hold back. It isn't the worst idea. Just like a woman might self stim to understand what her needs are, and then aplly that to the bedroom.

Now... being inside a woman is completely different from being a "problem solver"... but if a guy brings himself close to, but not to, the big O... and the boy does his kegels regularly (yes, guys should do them too)... it might help with lasting power. Couple o' weeks ago I was grateful for the kegels whilst I waited for my love to cross the line before me.

Also, if you find you finish too fast, you might consider positions that you favor less. I know there are a few positions that can get me over the top in no time... and others that feel good, but engage me less.

Likewise, you need to consider why do you need more time?

Is your partner not satiated? Fine... it happens. She might need another position that favors her. She might need more "coreplay" (I say this instead of foreplay, because most of what people call foreplay is really still to the mans liking)... more time to sensitize... she might need to self stimulate...

That can be tricky, depending on whether she has the self confidence to do this in front of you... but my experience is that a woman who is willing to self stimulate while you are inside her is oftentimes a woman who hits orgasm... so... taking a position that isn't as stimulating to you and asking her to self stim might work.

You never stated how "long" is "longer"... there's a difference between a few minutes and a dozen minutes and a half hour or more...

    So...

Why are you asking for lasting power?

    Is your partner not satisfied?

Are you just interested in more time?

Do you feel like you hit orgasm too fast?

How many partners have you had? How long sexually active?

If your partner isn't hitting orgasm, tell more. Her experience. The positions you take. Does she initiate sex? How old are you and her?

Sorry... but if good sex was as simple as a quick answer wed all pick up a pamphlet and wear out the springs on the bed in no time.

    Its more complicated than that.

The more info you can give, the better we can help.
