I have read that there are ways to save on college books by avoiding the campus bookstore, but I don't know what they are. Can anybody clue me in?

Ah, there are a few internet sites you can use.
I have used one called books4u.com However, you have to know the ISB number on the back of the textbook you are looing for.
I just did a Google search for college textbooks and came up with that one.
Welcome to AMHD and I hope you enjoy your time here.
Sometimes there is an off campus book store.
What I mean is there is a store that sells the textbooks which is located close to your campus, but they sell it at a much cheaper rate than your university's book stores.
Other ways are to buy books from former students.
Yes, former students!!
Thanks for the reminder CF!
Many schools have a "community room" where other students post the books that they are selling. This can be up to a 50% discount for some books.
I am surprised I forgot as I sell many of my books this way every semester.
First if buying books off campus make sure you check the book number, since titles can be similar.
But as said, you can find used books on Amazon and other online sites, you can get books from eBay and you can find them from other college students
Some organization on campus may run a Used Book Exchange.
I bought my books on http//www.amazon.com and one the http//www.e-bay.comQuote:
