I've been friends with this girl for a couple years and recently she stated that she wanted to be more than friends now I have wanted that since the first time we met but whenever I try to organise a date she cancels at the last minute or has some excuse why she can't go. Should I just move on?

It's been two years since you've known her, you've already asked her out on dates and nothing has come it. So, it's clear she's either playing games or is using you as a back-up plan.

If she wanted you, she would put your as her priority. Actions speak louder than words. Nor matter what she says (about wanting to be more than friends), she has to walk the talk. You've done your part at making it happen. Let her try to make the move now. If she doesn't make a move, then she never really wanted you in the first place anyway, regardless of what she said.

You did your part now move on. When you tell someone you like them and would like to take it further, then bow out on every date, they are either flacky, lying or just has bad luck.
