    Will Republicans RETAKE the Senate?
    Hello:

It LOOKED like they would until recent primary's. Having lost 2 elections, Republicans decided it was because they weren't conservative enough. So, they started the Tea Party, and the Tea Party has been winning primary's.

That's been both good and bad for them. Senator Harry Reid in Nevada was headed for certain defeat, but has been revived by the extreme right wing views of his opponent, Sharron Angle... And, what was a certain Republican victory in Delaware for Joe Biden's Senate seat, now looks like a winner for the Democrat for the same reasons - the extreme right wing views of his opponent, Christine O'Donnell.

Those two seats are pivotal in the Republicans quest to retake the Senate. Did they shoot themselves in the foot?

    Hello tom:

Yes, you did. So you think they'll WIN. They sure could.

Ex the GOP should be concerned about their very existence as a viable party.

I would remind them that they were not around at the founding . They formed under a single issue and began to draw membership from both existing parties.

They eventually ,and swiftly drew enough membership from the Whigs that the Whigs ceased to exist.
That could be the price the Republicans pay if they don't rapidly adopt and absorb the issues of the Tea Party.

I rightly question their relevance if they refuse to do so. Without the issues the Tea Party runs on ,the Republicans become nothing more than Democrat-lite.

    Hello again, tom:

We're on the same page. If the right wing of the Republican party wins, I believe there'll be a commensurate move to the left for the Democrats. They'll probably shed Republidems like Ben Nelson, Max Baucus, and that guy Lieberman.

Then, the parties will actually offer different solutions... You'll either see a roll back of Obamacare / Wall Street reform, and the like, or a rollback of the Bush/Cheney surveillance / Gitmo / torture / looking forward and not backward policy that Obama FULLY embraced.

I LIKE those choices. I'll bet you do too.

I can't explain Angle and I know little about O'Donnell, but what exactly are her extreme right-wing views, that she wants to make vibrators and masturbation illegal? That's what they're saying about her at Huffpo and I don't believe there's a grain of truth to it. The left is already in full combat mode to destroy this woman's character and that's what she's up against.

As much as you think Republicans have shot themselves in the foot the left is doing the same with their behavior, which I believe America is fed up with.

    Hello Steve:

I wasn't SAYING that Republicans shot themselves in the foot. I was asking. It may work out for them.

Of course, I don't know if O'Donnell plans to outlaw dildos or not. I know she's against whacking off - PERIOD. I think that's a pretty extreme view. You? Come on, Steve. You can tell me. You've touched yourself, haven't you?

That's my question, what is so 'politically' extreme about her, is she going to get a fair shake? No, she won't. She said some things about her religious views as a Catholic in 1998. So she actually sees her marriage as sacred and adheres to her Catholic faith as opposed to Pelosi, so what?

If she says that masturbation is a sin ,she is stating well established Christian belief . I see nothing in her rhetoric to suggest she would introduce legislation to outlaw it . Any suggestion to the contrary is over the top distortion.

    Hello again, tom:

She's saying MORE than it's a sin. Lots of Christians SAY it's a sin, and whack off that night. SHE doesn't, and she doesn't want you too either... In her prior life she worked for an organization that promoted NOT touching yourself...

Do I think she might attempt to make whacking off ILLEGAL? I don't know. What?? You think she WOULDN'T?? Neither of us know. All I know is she doesn't LIKE it, and in short order, she might have an opportunity to DO something about it.

That's the kind of stuff you get when you elect unknown's. You don't know if they're going to turn into socialists, or make jerking off illegal.

She'll be one of 100... give me a break ! This is Rachel Madcow trying to define her as extremist for having mainstream beliefs.Pure character assassination. I expect it from the Dems . What bothers me is when I hear it from Republicans like Rove targeting their own.

PS> You're not saying, are you, that nobody has to worry about a rogue senator because there's a 100 of 'em?? Would you buy that if I said it?? Nahhh. You wouldn't.

    Come senators, congressmen
    Please heed the call
    Don’t stand in the doorway
    Don’t block up the hall
    For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
    There’s a battle outside
    And it is ragin’
    It’ll soon shake your windows
    And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’.

    Hello again, tom:

It's cool. I detect a new business opportunity, though.. I'm going to invent a whacking off test. It'll be a wipe that turns a certain color if you've been pleasuring yourself.

    Going to make a fortune!

Republicans are trouble now, the Democrats have a plan that promises to “excite Democrats across the country.”

    They have a new logo.
