Go to your town or county deeds office, and search the deeds. The clerks will help.

Does your deed say anything? I am the 3rd owner of mine and my deed shows all parties back to 1974 when the house was built. .

Also, our town's historical society has a file on nearly every address. Check your historical society.

Being Carolina, the title search joypuly suggested will work for the last 200 years or so. Before that you'll need the History Dept. at NCSU.
