Water softener resin clogging water supply lines
We have a water softener that has a resin filter that has broken numerous times due to surges in water pressure. This time we didn't realize it had broken in time to bypass the softener and avoid getting resin in the lines again. We've already flushed the resin out of the 2 toilets and 2 sinks affected, but the kitchen sink's cold water supply line still seems to be clogged. Water comes out, but only in a trickle. The hot water works fine though. Same thing with the water dispenser in the fridge. We took the supply lines off and got some resin out, but the water barely comes out. Still seems to be making ice, but I don't know for how long. Not sure what to do next. Will the clogs work their way out, or are we going to have to call a plumber to take a look at the sink. And can a plumber fix the fridge or will we need to call the manufacturer? The fridge is only 4 months old. Needless to say, this water softener is history. 5 broken filters in 7 years are too many to deal with.
    Thanks!

Your kitchen faucet needs to be flushed out .You may need to remove it and use a hose to back-flush the faucet .Remove the aerator and run water through spout . Remember to open faucet as you would to fill a glass. As for the fridg. There is a fill solenoid at the back of the fridg. where the water line hooks on. Inside the soleniod is a screen ,just clean the screen and put everything back together. You should be fine.
