    Sony vaio laptop keyboard
The lap top is 3 years old and the keyboard does not work. In "WORD" the letter "V" continuously runs on and on. The computer tries to open files beginning with the letter "V" like, Vaio Recovery, and any program beginning with the letter "V". You can still use the mouse pad only.

My question, is my problem the keyboard or software? Can I use a desk top keyboard and stop the laptop board from going on and on with the letter V?

Sounds like the "V" is stuck. In WORD, try pressing V key, or move sideways to unstick.
Don't know of safe cleaner for keys. Worse case Search on Ebay for keyboard. Removal is easy on my Toshiba, like to believe easy on yours also. May have to remove screws/covers off back to access. Remove only covers directly behind keyboard.
