Attachment 5496
I would say it's a common house spider, but I'm no expert, go to bugsguide.com for another opinion.
Well that site don't work I see, but if it's a widow it will have the hour glass shape on it abdomen, won't be red like the black widow but yellow to orange looking.
Now I have it, the site to use to identify bug in the U.S. is www.bugguide.net there you can get the info you want. Good luck
Not an expert here. Have searched before myself for ids of black widows and brown recluse...
Can you get a better pic of the eyes? I know I used the following link before, and others like it, and the drawing of the eyes helped a lot with the determination... don't have the other links I used to cross reference...
Spider Identification and Management from Montana State University Extension Service
I would go with the cobweb weaver, Steatoda triangulosa. I am basing this on the pattern on the back of its abdomen. It matches the picture I found at http://entomology.unl.edu/images/spiders/spiders1.htm
A picture of a brown widow can be found at http://www.cdfa.ca.gov/phpps/PPD/PDF...eometricus.pdf
