Waiting too long to read the test, i.e. 10 minutes in your case, gives a false positive.
There are parameters to reading tests like these. The results are more accurate if read in the time frame stated on the directions.
How late is your period?
Dollar store brands are just as accurate as the high end brands. You pay for the name. The test is the same.
You still have to follow the directions, which you didn't. So the positive you got 10 minutes after taking the test, is not an accurate reading.
Also, you had sex 3 weeks ago, and seem to think that means you're 3 weeks pregnant. That's not the case at all. Do you know how conception works? Read up on it.
How late is your period? You shouldn't test until your period is at least 2 weeks late. Then test using first morning urine.
When?
Okay, let's break it down.
You shouldn't test until your period is at least 2 weeks late. When it is, test using first morning urine, and follow the directions on the test exactly. Read the results when the test tells you to read them, not later.
If that test is negative, wait until your next period. If you miss it too, test again or get a blood test done.
You would not be showing 3 weeks after having sex. If you are pregnant the baby would be around the size of the tip of a pencil. How would that expand your belly?
WHEN did you have your most recent period? What date?
WHEN did you have sex? What date?
Your belly does not get hard when you are first pregnant.
The 2 minute reading is the one that's most accurate at this time. The one at 10 minutes is not accurate.
I'm not saying you're not pregnant, you could be. But reading the test after the 2 minute time frame, makes it null and void. In other words, after 2 minutes, any results shown on the test are not accurate, are not valid. How to put this in terms you'd understand? It's a dud! It's bad! It's not truthful.
You think you're showing. At 3 weeks after sex, if you are pregnant, you'd be around 1 week pregnant. Your baby could only be seen using a microscope. So, how would you be showing? It's not possible at 1 week pregnant.
You have to wait and test when your period is at least 2 weeks late. Not before! Test with first morning urine, your first pee of the day. Follow the directions, don't look at the test after the allotted time for the test. Whatever the test says after the 2 minute mark (if that's the directions on the test) that's the answer. At 10 minutes it's useless.
Do you understand?
You can do what you want, but you do have to realize that we gave you the right advice. I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but that doesn't make the advice wrong, it just means you're not willing to listen to the truth.
If you're under the advice of a doctor and a gynecologist, why did you go online to ask this question? Why not call the people you obviously trust? Or did they tell you the same thing we did and you didn't want to hear it?
You asked, we gave you the accurate advice. If you're didn't want to hear facts, why did you ask? If you want to hear what you want to hear, ask your friends, not people that actually have knowledge about this sort of thing.
Good luck.
Alty has been pregnant three times. She knows about human pregnancy. She could be an expert in MANY areas here, but we are allowed to be an expert in only one or two areas. She has a good heart and wants you to understand about pregnancy. You owe her an apology.
How old are you? Are you trying to get pregnant?
I'm very human. I've also been pregnant three times, and I know a lot more than someone that can't even spell the word pregnancy, or the word pregnant, or even the word you.
You don't have to listen, that's your right. Truth told, based on your posts, I doubt you understood half of what was said. But that doesn't make it wrong. We gave you the facts, now it's up to you.
Being a pet expert does not mean I don't have knowledge in other areas.
I get it. You didn't want to hear the truth, and you're mad because we wouldn't lie to you, we wouldn't go along with what you want to believe.
Read all the posts, get a dictionary so you can try to understand what was posted. Maybe then you'll realize that none of us were mean to you, we simply told you the facts.
Now, I'm done with this thread. You've gotten the info you asked for, it's up to you now.
Good luck.
Thank you WG. Sadly I think this entire thread was doomed to fail from the beginning. The OP obviously doesn't have a high IQ, so there really was no way to educate her, to make her understand.
She didn't get the advice she wanted to hear, she got the truth. Not that I think she understood most of what we posted. Now she's mad, and the only come back she can think of is to use the pet expert thing. Apparently since I'm a pet expert, that must mean I'm an animal. That's the extent of her genius.
It must also mean that I know nothing about anything else. Pet expert is actually the very least of my expertise, it's just the area I'm most passionate about, and since I don't have the IQ of a gnat, I am able to be an expert in the pet forum. That doesn't negate my other expertise.
I'm sure her poor head is exploding just reading this post.
