Don't remember the first day of my last period.just remember the date September 18 as a possible conceiving date.

It's possible... was baby born a bit passed the due date?

I need to know how's that possible. My due date was July 2. until July 11 that I had the baby is almost 44 weeks counting from sept 18.

You don't need any more opinions. You were already given FACTS in your other thread. I deliver babies for a living, I give gals their due dates... I can't get any clearer than I already was.

Thanks a lot.it's not that I did not trusted you but I wanted to know even if my conception date according to the doctor and you is October 8 or 9, if there were any chances of conceiving also on sept 18.

You are misunderstanding something... you don't actually conceive the day you have intercourse. It takes several days for the sperm to travel from the vaginal vault up through the uterus and into the fallopian tube before reaching the egg. It then takes a couple more days for the fertilized egg to travel down into the uterus where it implants.

Having said that, if you actually did conceive on September 18, your due date would have been June 7.

In the end, you are going to have to have a DNA test done to determine who the father is.

As J_9 mentioned, conception is not instantaneous the day you have sex and even if it were, that would put you at just over 42 weeks... which is not uncommon particularly if this was a first baby. You wouldn't count Sept. 18 as week one... from the 18th to the 25th would start as week one.

July 2 (due date, which is not an exact science... you have a window of a couple of weeks either side of your due date that is considered a "normal" time frame to be at term) until July 11 is only 9 days difference.

Sex on Sept. 18... say conception occurred several days after, roughly Sept. 22. From Sept. 22 to July 11 would be just before 42 weeks gestation going by your due date.

As was said... the only way you are going to know for certain is with DNA testing.

So, you told me the conception date has to be October 8 or 9. you mean it is possible that from the day of September 18 that I had sex, I might have conceived on October 8? Isn't that too long? I can't have a DNA test now, I can't afford it.

Okay, look, I can't get any more simpler than this...

Your due date was July 2 so you conceived on October 8 or 9. It would have been impossible to conceive on September 18 and have a due date of July 2.

I live in italy and having a dna test is a little difficult here without the consent of the father.I know it is impossible conceiving on sept 18 with a due date of July 3. but then you say it takes several days for conceiving. That would be.. continue

That I had an intercourse on sept 18, so I probably did not conceive that day... but still... having the baby on July 11, could this baby be a result of that intercourse on sept 18?you probably explained it to me but I still got confused.sorry...

Honey, please don't use the comments feature to respond to me. Scroll down and you will see a box that says Answer this question.

Having the baby on July 11 would not have resulted from the intercourse on September 18. That's impossible.

I got pregnant on 0ctober 7 and my due date was July 14. So you couldn't have conceived on sept 18th and have a baby on July 11th you would have had to have conceived around October 4.

I just wanted to ask a question. How is it she would have conceived on October 8th or 9th to have a baby on July 11th when I conceived on October 7th and my due date was July 14th? (I had my son in July of 09 and everything but I'm just curious as to how that's possible with what I was told by my doctors.)

Because her baby was post-due. Her original due date was July 2.

Yes, but my due date was July 2 not July 11. I was told by my doctor I conceived around October 7 or 8 and my due date was July 2. I actually had the baby on July 11, according to the doctor being 41 weeks and 3 days. The reason I am insisting on September 18, when I had sex with this guy is that it seems to me that my baby boy looks a lot like him, especially the eyes. I can't have a dna test, but according to what J_9 wrote it's impossible that the baby is a result of Sept 18, but I keep asking myself why they kind of look alike?

Looks mean nothing, really nothing, I have 5 boys, guess what the one that is adopted everyone says look the most like me. Even in baby photos.

And sorry but you can get DNA tests ( maybe not court approved) but they have them you mail in even if you want to prove it beyond a doubt

Looks mean nothing. Your child will change his looks quite a few times throughout the years.

What you do, is file for child support, the father of the baby will deny parenthood, then the court will order a paternity test done. That's how you actually "afford" a dna test.

I know that looks change over the years and most babies look alike, but his eyes look exactly the same. Another thing I have to clarify, since I pretty much told you everything... I don't have to file a child's support because I already am living with my husband and pretty much on sept 18 I had sex with my ex which I met after a long time and this messed all things up. I also had sex those days with my husband as well, almost every day and we also tried to have a baby, and it will be really ironic if I got pregnant instead with my ex just for that day, which I regret so much.

Okay, how many times do I have to say it's IMPOSSIBLE.

Look, this is what I do for a living. I am a labor and delivery nurse. I'm not giving you a guess... I'm telling you what your doctor would tell you.

Pregnancy is 40 weeks, give or take 2 weeks. If you got pregnant in September, your due date would have been June, not July.

You probably told me that 10 times now and I really appreciate your patience toward me, it has helped me lots.take my excuses 100 times, I am probably freaking out... since I read around also that pregnancies can go up to 44 or even 46 weeks and the baby has been fine, but still I doubt it that my doctor and midwife has been lying to me about the weeks. I did monitoring from July 2 up to July 9-th and the baby was fine. The US on July 9 did not pointed anything out just that the amnotic fluid was right and the baby was too big. My boy was 4 kilos when he was born. I have done calculations myself, even by measuring the gestation age according to EDD, AC, HC atc and it all fits with my US.I know that if I had sex on sept 18, the due date would have been max June 18. But, you know, when I see that many things match up physically with the guy, than the doubts rise again. It's a bad feeling and situation and that's why I keep asking and needed reassurements. I have to apologize though because maybe I have offended you somehow. I, myself, am a psychologist, and know very well the issues of my job, just as you know yours.

Can I ask something else related to the first issue? My HCG Quant level on November 3, 2009 was 7124. Can you find ou how many weeks pregnant I was from there?
  • Oct 22, 2010, 03:58 PM

You seem like an educated woman. I'll try to explain a little further why you could not have gotten pregnant in September

The placenta is the organ that supplies life sustaining nutrients from you to the baby through the umbilical cord. After 40 or 41 weeks the placenta begins to deteriorate leaving your baby with inadequate access to blood and oxygen. At 44 - 46 weeks or more, the placenta will no longer function and you end up losing the baby.

You can try to justify the intercourse on September 18, but again. It's impossible to carry this long and deliver a live baby.

Thank you for the explanation. I kind know this also because I have read very much during my pregnancy and I have read all this too, but hearing it from you reinforces it. Thanks.
I asked you another question before about my HCG level. Let me know if you saw that.
