I'm pregnant when to go to doctor
I just found out today and I'm working all this week.
If I call the doctors office will I need to go in this week or when should I?
Thanks. Also, How often do you usually go during a pregnancy?

You call your doctor and you get in when they have an appointment for you. Many doctors do not take patients before 13 weeks. For now, make sure you are taking prenatal vitamins. You can get them over-the-counter at any drug store.

    As for doctor's visits...

You go once a month for the first seven months, then twice a month for the eighth month, then once a week for your final month of pregnancy.

Wow that's a lot of going to the doctor.
Well I just told my mom this morning and she wants me to go get a blood test done today?
    Could I get in today?
And I was on birthcontrol and I just stopped taking it, is that right I should do that?
I also only think I'm 2 or 4 weeks maybe so is it too soon.

Yes, you just stop taking the birth control pills.

It's okay to go to the doctor for a blood test, but at 2-4 weeks there's nothing the doctor will most likely do except for putting you on prenatal vitamins.

OK I went to the doctor and I go back in two weeks.
Will they just be talking to be then about everything?
Also, I can't take the big vitamin pills. Is it OK to chew it up and take them?
I think I am about 5 weeks now, not positive till I go backi guess.

Unless the bottle says to chew, then you should just swallow them! They are pills for a reason.

Thanks! How far along am I?
    5 weeks?
Also, I've chewed up tylonall before when I have a headace and it works.

    Yay thank you.
If I have a headace is it OK to take tylonal?
Is it OK to chew it up ot crush it up and take it?
OR I could just take the kids kind.
Which should I do? Thank, because I get headaces a lot usually.

It's okay to take Tylenol, but don't crush or chew it. If you can't swallow pills you can take the liquid Tylenol.

    KARIEMELIA

To be honest.. I can't swallow pills either. I chew them up and I am also pregnant...
I take Tylenol for my headaches. I suffer from migraines and cannot take my Excedrine Migrain so Tylenol it is!

As a nurse, I advise my patients not to crush or chew Tylenol as it is specially designed to release differently when swallowed whole. Liquid Tylenol is better if you cannot swallow pills.

That's okay if your doctor is fine with it.

I'm just telling you what I tell my patients. I am an OB nurse.

I understand that you are an OB nurse and I think your advice is good as well. I just think my doctor knows it is easier for me to chew up pills... so he lets me do it :)

LOL... when I first found out, my hair and face were like a grease fest with lots of acne. I found some clarifying Shampoo and started using Stridex pads during the day and everything has improved so much! Good luck!

    Thank youuu.
My first appt will I get an ultra sound to see how the baby's doing?
OR when will I first get an ultra sound?

Every doctor's office is different. Some do an ultrasound right away, yet others wait. It also depends on your insurance as to when and how many ultrasounds are done.

I have another question, I heard from a friend that at 3 months you have to get blood drawn. About 8 pints? Is this true?
    And if so why?
  • Oct 18, 2009, 03:15 PM
    J_9
You don't get 8 pints drawn. That's excessive. You get a small amount of blood drawn. The reason is to determine your blood type, RH factor, Immunities, as well as HIV status.

    stylistjennifer

Oh OK, so you do get your blood drawn again at 3 months?
I just don't like doing that.
Also, how far along usually till you can find out what your having?

They may draw your blood again at 3 months, it all depends on the doctor. But we DO draw blood when you come in to the hospital in labor as well.

You find out what you are having typically around 20 weeks.

How well does the gender predictor test work? That you can buy from walgreens.
  • Oct 21, 2009, 01:21 PM
    KARIEMELIA

I have read reviews on that gender prediction test, and what I gathered from all of it was: it was a fun test to take but accuracy-wise... wasn't too good!

Is it OK to bleed some during pregnancy?
Last night I was bleeding some and I'm 8 weeks.

Were you cramping at all? You were "bleeding some." Can you describe "some?"

    How much?
    How little?
    Bright red?
    Dark brown?
Enough to wear a pad or not?

I missed this, but I'm not sure I understand it. Can you make payment arrangements with the doctor and/or hospital?

My stomach was hurting some, but not cramping really just kind of hurting but not bad.
And it was like brown blood, not too much.

I haven't been to the doctor yet, because I have been trying to figure out about money and went applied for medicaid.

Hey there, I just wanted to let you know I had a misscarage Sunday night. I went to the er and that's what they told me. Its been very hard.
My question now is, if this happens my first time. Will it be harder for me to get pregnant again or I'm just scared to have this happen again now.

I'm sorry to hear your news.

Now, it shouldn't be hard to get pregnant again... AFTER your body has healed.

I'm just scared to have a misscarage again.
Are there things to help that?

Every woman who miscarries is afraid it will happen again, you are not alone.

You just have to rely on nature and understand that when it is right the baby will fully develop.

OK thank you, I just needed some one to tell me. So I don't worry.
