1. See your ob/gyn for regular checkups. Let him/her know you are trying to conceive, and listen to his/her advice about it.
2. Chart your ovulation. Do this for a series of a few months. Learn to recognize the patterns in your ovulation. Have sex a couple of days BEFORE you are due to ovulate.
3. Get your husband to stop any form of masturbation. Do not have sex every day during the week of ovulation--every other day is better.
4. Recognize that if you have been on birth control, you are going to need time for your body to flush that fully from your system.
5. Keep in good health, and treat your body like you are already pregnant. If either of you smoke, now is a good time to give it up. Same with drugs and alcohol.
6. Remember that it takes most healthy couples up to a year to conceive.
If there were a "sure" way to conceive or not conceive, there wouldn't be unwanted pregnancies or couples spending tens of thousands of dollars on fertility treatments.
