Hello all! I am 20 and have been married 1 year. I do not have a period at all unless I am taking my birth control. I got off that in July to start a family with my husband, so I have not have a period since July or August. When I do have a period it is ALWAYS very heavy and it last for 5-8 days, and I always have really bad cramps right before. For the last four days there has been very light red or brownish spotting at the same time every day. This has never happened before and I want to think it's because we are expecting, but I don't know if maybe there is something wrong with me. Can someone help me out.

To make it simple, you really should see a doctor and find out if you have a need for extra hormone treatment or you might have very narrow or clogged tubes. Maybe you were even a premature birth, and your reproductive organs did not develop fully. Anything is possible, and that's why it's best to consult a physician you trust and write down your family's medical history, and medications you take, all that will help him/her make a more accurate assessment of your situation. With the modern technology today, there is help for you, I'm sure, so don't give up. It might even be as simple as having to take an aspirin a day to thin your blood during this time to lighten the pain. And if you might be pregnant, they usually don't hurt the baby, but again, see your doctor for reassurance. Good Luck. I should go and see a doctor, I told my mum about it she said to go to the doctor as soon as polble.my mum,s sister went thrw the same thing as I have and she got inside taken out.I don't want that to happen to me at all. I love to have baby I will do anything to get better.thank you... mate

I am so sorry to hear your news but keep your head up. I have been trying 4ever and when I didn't think it possible it happen . Don't give up hope it will happen .
P.s I took everyone's advice and told the father today. He wasn't too happy but he will be there for me . All this time when we were trying he was only doing it for me ,Because he felt sorry for me. He apparently has a new woman in his life. That's o.k. As I originally said I wanted a child for me and that's all there is to that. Thanks everyone you are truly a blessing for me. :cool:

But I was hoping that because I'm spotting for the first time ever, it might be a sign that we are going to have a baby. I don't know when I ovulate, but I know that the spotting started about a week or so after the last time my husband and I had sex. From all that I've read on the net. That IS a sign of pregnancy! I really hope so! Thanks again to all!

Things look like they are looking up for most of us. I hope that this trend continues. For those of you that have gotten what you wished for in that little miracle congrats. If you haven't yet, well practice makes perfect... and at least have fun trying. Remember making love isn't sapposed to be clinical. If you don't allow yourself the pleasure that goes along with it then how will you know the pleasure of being pregnant? Relax and let nature take it's course. Thanks 4 all the wonderful advice u have bin giving I know without u most of us would be lost. I Am so happy for me but a small part of me is so sad, because I am beginning to miss my ex. Although I have what I want I still miss him a lot. My doctor said its normal because He was my one true love .We have been togother forever and now I am all alone. I know time will heal me so I am currrently taking it one day at a time . Thanks again everyone for all the lovely advice and encouragement. God Bless!!

I went to the Dr. today, and he said that the reason for my spotting is most likely because I am pregnant! I am so excited! I can't wait until tomorrow when he calls with the results! Thanks all! Keep praying, I'm not clear yet!

I Had The Same Problem. When I Started My Period It Was Really Light At First Then It Got Heavier And Then Light Again N Then Stopped. The Next Month I Had Light Brown Blood (which I Guess Wasn't Considered A Period Because There Was No Red Or Pink Blood). Also If U Take A Home Pregnancy Test And It Comes Out Negative I Would Consider Just Going To Your Doctor And Getting A Blood Test Because I Took 2 Home Pregnancy Tests And They Both Came Out Negative But Then I Took A Blood Test And It Showed Up That I Was Already 2 N A Half Months Pregnant! So Good Luck! :d

I still haven't started, 9 days late now, a tad more spotting yesterday & some cramping. I wish I just knew one way or the other. Five HPT so far and all negative, but it took forever for one to show up with my daughter. Just getting real impatient, I want to be pregnant. :(

Dear, check some of the links that I posted to others on this thread, they might help reassure you. A little spotting and cramping is not unusual in the first trimester, and even if you've been pregnant before, you can be certain that not every pregnancy is the same, and those home pregnancy tests are not 100 percent sure, so don't stress yourself. Dear, if he's not in another town, you still might have a chance to include him in the life of you and the baby, by asking him to maybe participate in the exercises and labor classes in the future, unless you broke in total anger. If you broke in total anger, then, I'm sure you'll find a friend to help you fill the emptiness that you should share with someone at a time like this. A well balanced emotional mother is better for the baby than a sad and stressed one, even if it's just with friends. So think about it, you'll need support no matter what, and in my opinion, you deserve it. Again, good luck, and stay on to keep us posted and also use us as sounding board, it's healthier for you.

Anyone else's belly buttons sore?woke up this morning with a sore belly button and sore boobs, total adversion to everything I want to eat, though I am starving. Woke up at 4:30 thismorning with heartburn and hunger. Anyone else expereience this?

Well the doctor called today and said that I wasn't pregnant :( He told me that now that we know I'm not, we can go from there and take some steps to help. I will see what happens in a couple of months I guess. It just makes me so sad sometimes!

Just relax and enjoy the holidays and being with family and friends, then work with the doctor once your body has gained some strength, and you some mental rest. The links to the literature and other sites should have included these symptoms in them... they are normal during pregnancy. I had heartburn all the time and the only thing that helped get rid of it was eating chili every day, or pizza with ciane (sp) pepper on them. Everyone told me my baby was going to have a lot of hair - wrong, she was the typical 'georgia peach'. Just in case you missed the links, here are some good ones:

Well found out today my blood test showed negative. I ask why I hadn't started in 12 days then and the nurse told me the doc hadn't looked @ my blood work yet and she might could tell me something later. But anyway not pregnant.

Dear, don't give up hope, your hormone values might not be that high yet to tell. I was five months PG and my blood test was negative, so anything is possible. Keep in touch with your doctor though, and don't stop asking questions until you are satisfied. And if you are not this time, the new modern technology should assist the doctor in helping you get the results you want sooner or later. Dear, I'm sorry about your disappointment. It is good listening to instincts in many issues, and yes, they and you know your body better than a doctor - but they can only work with what they have. If I were you, I'd change clinicians and when you go there, have all of your medical history possible, available on paper for him/her. This will reduce guessing and having to re-tell all that you should. Sit down and write down as much as you remember, as far back as possible, to include surgery, medications, symptoms, etc. This will provide the new doc with a better 'picture' of your physiology and he can take care of you according to this information.
The following site is free to sign onto, and gives you a lot of information to questions that might pop up and if your doctor does not have enough time to explain, you can peruse at your leisure.
Heavy clotting can be caused through many factors and a few are a high clotting factor to not enough fluid intake, even though this time of the year we don't get that thirsty, but the body needs at least to a 1/2 liters of water each day to prevent drying up, and also helps keep skin from going through the 'winter' changes.

Please by all means stay as relaxed as possible, and take care of your body so that it has a chance to take care of you. To me it sounds like you've taken the doctor's word too often without asking imperative questions - they are not gods. In these times, it's very important for each one of us to know our bodies and listen to the signals they send, so that the doctors take us seriously.

Well, I was suppose to start my period Tuesday. Have been having spotting, but nothing else... reallyl confused. As of today, I have nothing. Not even spotting.took a test on Tuesday and it was a faint negative. Any one know what is going on with me this time?

Don't want to put your hopes up, but look at the links I suggested to you earlier, and you might find out that the symptoms you have might be implantation bleeding. Good luck, and see a doctor if you can't wait for the reassurance.

I did it! I found out that I was pregnant just before Christmas. Bizarrely, it was my husband who persuaded me to do the test. I had stopped checking temp etc as I was convinced that I hadn't ovulated (did the tests for 10 days without a positive). Anyway, I got two positives (different makes) and went straight to the doctor. She confirmed it, and now I'm waiting to meet the midwife! My husband cried when he found out. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope that it works out for the rest of you guys VERY soon. It just goes to show that if you keep on trying, you might just do it! GOOD LUCK!

Me too!! Here I am, feeling nausous, almost vomitting, waking up in the morning fighting that, been irritable and then emotional and crying over stuff. My last period was sometime in the end of nov. I am very regular. I was with the guy I'm seeing, about 3weeks ago, (I remember this because next weekend will be almost a month since we have been intimate). So af should have been here around the end of the month sometime, so today I get this light pinkish reddish spotting, that starts very lightly with cramping and then went away and stopped for a few hours and then started up with brown spotting, just like at the very very end of your period when you use a very light pantyliner, the only way I can tell is by wiping when I'm in the bathroom. So now I'm not sure what to think, I don't have money to see a doctor, and I'm not sure when I should test, though I want to make sure I don't have to keep retesting so I don't have to spend a bunch of money. This is too confusing! So could I be pregnant?

You should probably test in about a week. Also I would suggest looking up free clinics in your area. www.plannedparenthood.com is a good one and they can give you a clinic in your area. Your not without resources. By the way how old are you? Give us some details here so that we may better help you.

I'm still spotting, very lightly, and the nausea is insane, and I have little cramps in my abdomen, but it hurt really bad when I had to go the bathroom when I held it to long.

Dear Nikki, it sounds like common symptoms of the beginning of the first trimester, so please see your doctor and get a more accurate test done.

It does sound like it, but please remember the golden rule - when in doubt always see your doctor. Also check some of the sites on the other posts here to get better insight and reassurance. I certainly hope your efforts of Trying to conceive worked. By the way what does AF mean?? We call it LMP, (last menstrual period).
