I agree with Scott - you were on a break, both doing your own thing (so to speak). You know intercourse can lead to pregnancy - you have a child. What is the big concern (unless you weren't on a "have sex with other people" break)?

If this is going to tear your family apart it's going to happen whether you find out now or later who the father is - and it's going to be later, after DNA testing.
