How do I heat a smaller pool?
I have an Intex 10' X 30" "frameless" pool. Even though I live in "Sunny" South Fla, it is often not sunny, or I like to take a dip after work at 2am to de-stress. The pool will be ice cold half the time. I looked online at heaters, but they cost twice if not three times the cost of my pool, and I gather that they are meant for larger pools. Is there any thing out there I can try? A friend suggested putting half concrete blocks in the oven and then throwing them in the pool, but I hope he was joking.

Hey Bopper, you could take a shot at this. Fafco Solar Pool Heaters for Above Ground Pools You would need to put your pump on a timer so it could circulate the water during the high noon time of the day.

Sorry I haven't been on for some time, I am very busy right now (O.K. when am I never busy?), my pool is 10' round and 30" deep. The solar panels won't work mostly because the pump/filter is kinda small, and there would not be enough force to pump the water through. I am trying a "solar" pool cover, but it doesn't seem to work either. Next step will be to comb the thrift stores for wetsuits for the night swimming :) It is fun when monsoon season is over here in South Florida. My friend and I float on one edge of the pool with our chins resting on the edge, and watch a whole tribe of Anole lizards do their daily thing. I call it my "soaps".

Pool heat pump wiring 220v [ 6 Answers ]

I have an older pool heatpump that needs 220v 25amps. I have 10/2 wiring to a 25 amp breaker in my box. I test 120v on each (black & white) to the ground wire. Nothing seems to work. I can bypass to get the fan to work, but it barely spins. Seems like I'm working on 1/2 power. I'm obviously no...
