Actually, excon, I consider myself a reasonable libertarian, rather than doctrinaire. I like most everything Ron Paul says, but he isn't qualified to be president, in my view, because of his narrow view about the role of the US in international affairs. It's not enough to stand on Washington's 'Fairwell Address' because we are not protected by two oceans, and haven't been for 70 years. I'm not going into a defense of the Iraq policy here, but Paul makes some sophomoric comments about our aid to Israel. As for the police function of our governments, we have the Bill of Rights, and I love 'em, especially the 10th.
