I read a bit more into the Netherlands political parties, wow. With as many odd parties as they have. I'm surprised they managed to become as free as they have been. I personally hope that the people of Netherlands keep their freedoms. From the outside observer it seems they have been doing very well for the past couple of years and I hope that many countries follow their lead. Of course I'm a libertarian so what do you expect from me?
I don't deny the history of the nation. Just when I hear Christian nation, I think Muslim nation and I think that gives the wrong impression to the rest of the world because many aren't familiar with the freedoms that we enjoy here in the US. I just feel it's not as welcoming to other faiths as describing our nation as a secular nation of mostly Christians. Probably the same thing as saying we are a Christian nation but I like my version better. Opinion I guess.
I knew it was GB senior that said it. My point is that both sides think they are correct but Christians hold majority of the cards. Hopefully we can keep with the way things have been going and niether side gains the high ground.
