    Thanks for all the info however you did not answer my question. Can I cut out a sectio of iron drain pipe and put in a section of PVC to connect the toilet. If I can how or what is the best way to do it?

    Your question was misleading. In my last post I asked you to clarify your request. You tell me you wish to install a bathroom yet mention only a toilet.
    Then complain that I didn't answer your question.
    I gave you instructions on installing a bathroom in my last post.
    If you wish to add a toilet to a existing stack vent you will have to platform the floor up a few feet. You will cut in a PVC sanitary tee to the stack and run to a closet bend. You will also have to check your local codes to find out if a separate vent is required. Good luck, Tom

    Sorry. I didn't want you to think I was complaining. I noticed sani-floo makes a toilet with a the outlet on the back would something like that work. What works best for cutting the iron pipe and do you use rubber connectorsa and hose clamps the tie the PVC to the iron pipe?

    A Sani-Flo toilet is for installations that have overhead mains that the discharge must be pumped up to drain. What you want is a floor mounted rear discharge toilet.
    Here's a site to check out.. Be advised that these are special order and they don't come cheap. Expect to pay around $400.00. Regards tom

    You will use ratchet cutters to cut the stack and a raiser clamp and two bumper jacks to hold the stack from falling down. You will take a PVC sanitary tee and prim and glue a short piece of PVC in the hub. You will then use Fernco Shielded Couplings or No-Hub Bands to secure the sanitary tee to the stack. Depending on the toilet you purchase the connection instructions to the sanitary tee will be included with the toilet. Good luck, Tom
