Iam Installing A Mixer Shower - Which Is Not Thermostatically Controlled - I Have Installed The Cold Supply To The Rising Main But The Pressure Is Too Great And The Connection Is Leaking A Bit - Can I Reduce The Pressure By Means Of A Valve.
Also I Have Just Been Told That It Is Illegal To Install A Mixer Shower To A Rising Main And That It Has To Come From The Tank In The Loft - Is This True.
Also I Have Read That The Hot Water Supply Should Be Connected Above The Hot Water Tank - But My Hot Water Tank Is In The Loft So Can I Cnnect It To A Pipe In The Bathroom Instead

A drawback to installing a mixer shower is the fact that it will usually be connected to pipes which supply water to other points. When the other points are used (taps, toilet cistern etc) the flow rate to the shower will be affected. This in turn will affect the temperature of the water coming out of the shower and, in the case of the cold being drawn off elsewhere, could lead to scalding. This can be overcome, with a low pressure system, by laying separate pipes to the valve from both hot and cold supplies and making the shower water independent. Regards Tom
