Just how amazing it is, and then sometimes I think deeply about how everything came together, but I won't go into that now.

Nice. Thanks guys. Can you imagine how earliest man must have felt when they looked up into the night sky... how awestruck they must have been looking into an infinitely deep and immensely starry sky?

I think how insignificant I am.

I also think there has to be people out there somewhere, doing exactly what I'm doing, at that precise moment... wandering the same as me!

    Honestly?

    I always find Orion.

When I was a little girl, my Dad and I would go on Father/Daughter campouts and stay up until the wee hours of the morning, watching the stars come out, seeing the Milky Way appear, and hearing the night sounds overtake the late afternoon birds. We would always find Orion, first thing.

One night, about a week before my Dad passed away I had come home late from the hospital where I had spent some time with him. I remember simply laying down in the driveway because I couldn't even make it in the house. I looked up at the stars and wouldn't you know it? First thing I saw was Orion. It may sound odd and a bit weird, but I remember talking to Orion that night, knowing that not too much longer, and my Dad would be gone from me. I felt a "friendship" (if you will) with the constellation because of my history watching for it to appear.

Today, whenever I look at the night sky, I always search for Orion and say, "Hi Dad. I love you."

When I look into the night sky,I think of my Dad and his Space Shuttle. Dad was one of the origonal designers of the Shuttle and was his baby. I think of how Dad loved the sky and everything in it.Then I think of the Flying Sauser that hovered over our heads when we were kids (my sisters and brother). I wish it would come back,I wouldn't be so scared of it this time. That is what I think about looking at the night sky.

When I look up at the night sky full of stars I am awestruck at its beauty.

And seeing the night when out on the ocean or away from the city is one of the most beautiful sights, without the distraction of artificial lights, the sky seems so much closer, almost like we could reach out and touch.

And of course like Orphan said, how small we are compared to the whole universe... and obviously my thoughts turn to the Creator I believe in.

You always put things so beautifully, firmbeliever...

My grandmother was born on an island and spent most of her life there. There's an observatory on the island I didn't know about until I discovered this website a couple of years ago:
    Kamagari

Interestingly, my grandmother is the only other person I know of other than sandy who in a matter of fact way told me she has seen a flying saucer. She was a child at the time too, and was obviously convinced by what she saw.

My daughter hasn't been to my grandmother's island yet, so I'd love to take her there one day. We'll have to go to the observatory together :)

At night time I frequent the sea
As I watch its vastness I dance with glee
I feel I'm the only one in this world, yet I also feel the strongest connection with everything

Nature at night is the most beautiful desolate place to be.

Nature at night is the most beautiful desolate place to be, its beauty is unparalleled no matter where you are.
The city has a deep magnitude at night too. *

Me too, because if I'm looking up there it usually means I tripped and fell on my back.

I wonder where it all ends or if it goes on forever. I just wonder what else is out there that we can't see.

No, seriously though, I think, why is everyone so concerned with outer space? Inner space is where it's really at.

I know this is a late response and I just joined this site a week ago.
When I look up at the stars I think how foolish and arrogant we are as the human species. Many times I say to my wife, If a U.F.O. landed and an Extraterritorial asked me "tell me about humans on earth." Out of embarrassment I truly wouldn't know what to say.

Aaahhhh The who ever experiment didn't go well!

We think we are so smart and that's what made us dumb.

It seems we like to kiss our humans kids but sometimes we feel the need to shoot another parent.

Aaahhh did you bring anything with you to fix us humans short of eradicating us?

Aaah FREE WILL oops we lost the directions on that to operate it right do you have a copy with you

You wouldn't happen to have a time go back Button?

Maybe to get out of the embarrassment of his question and try to throw him off I could respond and say

WWEEEELLLLLLL Lets just say this " WE humans are differently alike" and see how that flies.
God I hope he doesn't ask me If I was yo grade the humans what it be!

So when I look up at the stars I want a ride out of hear. ( NO Iam not suicidal )
    Just disappointed
You don't know what big is until you compare it to something big or bigger. I get a sad but great feeling of humbleness. WE all need to look up more at get some at the STARS and get some adjustments It works for me and gives me more hope. And there is NO way we are the only ones. Please I hope NOT!!

When I look up at the stars, I think of what we accomplished as humans, war, hells yeah, war is our greatest invention, I'm not saying I'm prowar, but, my oldman was a SEAL, and I have family in the military, ever heard of sivipacemparabelum, if you want peace, prepare for a war, hippies need to pay more attention man
