Where is the human spirit? Where is the conscience? Where is that yearning to be in communion with other humans? Where does the quest for knowledge of the divine Creator originate?

The soul cannot be identified by a specific location. When God breathed life into man the soul was born.

Soul is a theological word only. It is not a biological or neurological word.

It is located in the imagination of *Believers* and nowhere else.

    I agree with shygrneyzs,

Happiness is an exclusive quality of the soul. Thus, a body that attains all the material successes it longs for - money, power, fame, etc. - often(may not be always) belongs to an unhappy person. Happiness depends totally on the degree of growth and development attained by the soul, which is the real happiness and satisfaction.

The soul is the essesnce of the person. The body is just a temporary vessel housing it while it resides in this existence. This existence is where the soul begins .There is no pre-existance ,but later life is eternal .

In the thinking... in the imagination... in the mind... look if your mind believes that soul doesn't exists, then it doesn't... n if your mind believes that the soul exists, then it exists..

The soul is WHO you are. It is your thoughts, emotions, feelings, ideas, ideals and everything about YOU.

By definition the soul is eternal and usually believed to preexist the body, while spirit develops and grows as an integral aspect of the living being.

True the soul is eternal and it is inseparable from the spirit. I think the spirit preexits the body too and all develop and grow as an integral aspect of the living being

The soul lies inside the body. Read "The soul" by Aristoteles to have a better ideia of what the soul is.

I don't think the soul even exists and can be explained chemical reactions in the nerves all around your heart. I hope this doesn't upset anyone, just what I've come to believe. My religion is science after all. XD

Just because we cannot see and touch,

The invisible realms of the soul and spirit,

It does not mean that they don't exist.

According to the Mundaka Upanishad, this atomic soul is situated in the heart of every living entity.

    http://www.asitis.com/2/17.html

Avicenna generally supported Aristotle's idea of the soul originating from the heart.

    http://www.search.com/reference/Soul

Prasna Upanishad has been given this name because it deals with six questions (prasna).
The text describes the heart as the seat of the Atman.
