    A reflection of yourself
So I tried this thing called mirror scrying or whatever. I'm not very experienced with it. All I did was sit a mirror on the floor against a dresser with my back against a bed with my legs folded and just stared into it. I didn't know what to expect, but things got kind of weird. I started to notice while staring with my eyes wide open that my face and skin form started to change. I saw my eyes shut close for a bit then open back up. Then I saw my face start to take the form of a demon-like figure. While staring -- I also seen this white aura surrounding me. I'm not sure what that was. Maybe it was my own aura. I was encased in this small aura of darkness and began to feel really weird. I stopped and figure I aught to try it again later. Also, the first form of me I saw, it felt as though I was seeing myself dead. Well, I aught to try this more later.

Have you read up on this? It doesn't really sound like you know what you are doing. You don't seem to be mindful about it. I get the feeling you are about 14 years old and playing games so you can report stuff to your friends.

I suggest you read up on it -- in library books and on the Internet on reliable websites.

My sister claims she prays for three hours and then can speak in tongues. (I would too after three solid hours of praying!) The Bible says there has to be a tongue interpreter available to translate, but my sis says it's between God and her. In other words, she is misusing the speaking-in-tongues experience.

    Don't do that with scrying.

That's not a good enough reason. It's mysterious and intriguing to go into my basement without turning on any lights, but for some reason I don't do that. I wonder why not?

All the more reason to read up on scrying.

I was just looking up on ways to contact spirits and it suddenly was a thing that came up.

Why would you want to contact spirits?

Don't mess with what you don't know about.

No, the way to find answers is to READ about it first and then know what you are getting into.

Not at all. Just being realistic. You can get yourself into a real mess if you don't know what you are doing.

Maybe so. But on this subject, I prefer to learn/do. All I wanted to know was if what I've done was dangerous in what way. I've read online that some said it was. That's not enough to deter me. I'm also still looking for more info as I do the self-stare. Maybe I can be reckless at times. Still, I have my ways of doing things.

No, nobody thinks you're a nut-job. You're not the only one to dabble with the occult. It's mysterious... it can be exciting at first. I'm not denying that there isn't an actual spirit power behind these things... but the one thing you obviously don't understand is WHAT power is behind them.

As Wondergirl suggested... trying reading up on something first. If you want to know things, like we all do, don't just grab the first thing on the internet that you come across. Playing with the occult is EXACTLY like playing with drugs... sure I know people who have dabbled in them some and walked away from it with nothing but foggy memories... but it's a game of roulette.

I can tell you have a "I'll do what I want attitude" (I'm fairly sure you're a teenager)... and I'm sure that you're attitude towards Christianity is nothing but contempt... however, there is a reason that God forbids this type of activity. Notice that God doesn't deny it's power... He forbids our involvement with it. That is because these are demonic powers you're playing with. The one things that was to be understood about the demonic is that it doesn't operate in outward and obvious evil... MOST of it's operation is in deceit. That is where they grab young people, lure them in with curiosity and get them involved is a world of trouble. I could tell you horror stories of people who simply played with a Ouija board... and to be honest scrying seems to have an even stronger power attached to it.

I know you didn't ask for help in this... but hopefully you will think a little differently about what you are dabbling in. Yes, the occult is ALWAYS dangerous.

Also, to pull together the other post that you have in the paranormal forum... that feeling you have is very likely a spirit. They very often will compel you to dig deeper into occult related things. I'm not saying that you are possessed. They can put things in your mind that aren't actually originating from you.

I'm feeling drawn to dig deeper into this matter. I believe in God and all, but I don't really have a religion. From what you've said, I guess I really should do some more research, still, I think I've got a strong will. I'm not saying I can't be broken and overtaken. I feel as though I need to do some confrontation, despite the dangers involved. Even if it's reckless and idiotic.
