    Editing unins000.dat
Is it possible to edit the unins000.dat file created by an installation?

I have tried with several programs but it seems Inno had introduced a CRC check to check the file for corruption.

I have a file that has been moved and I would like to change the location in the unins000.dat file so that it will be deleted when he program is uninstalled.

    Thanks
    Dave

I doubt that you can do it. You'd have to know the format of the unins000.dat file and, from what you've said, you'd have to change an internal CRC.

Is reinstalling the program an option?

Reinstalling will put the file back in it's original location. I have discovered that if I add a file, text in this case, describing what is happening, it will not be deleted during the uninstall. This will allow the directory to remain open with the file containing the information I want still intact. I can then manually delete the moved file. While this isn't an automatic option, it will prevent files from being left in directories after an uninstall.

I was just hoping I could add the file to the uninst000.dat file and have it all done during the uninstall. Oh well.
