So what if some psycho ex girlfriend or just someone looking to ruin your day has your phone number and keeps calling you over and over? You're right, there should be a law because you have no control over who's dialing your number so you certainly shouldn't be charged for that. Is it common in Canada for people to do that to other people they are mad at, just keep calling over and over?

It's just me I guess but I'd never give out my cell number to a website affiliated with prankdialer.com and has absolutely no contact info other than trey@.

I think I can figure this one out... its easy to walk into a room and set your phone down, get distracted and walk out of the room, forgetting where you left it. It would be very unusual for this to happen with a computer... oh- were you thinking of phone connection for the computer? Not everyone has a land line anymore. You don't have to have a land line phone in order to use a computer online anymore.

Maybe you should have continued reading, since this was already addressed, but thank you.

Hey, Karma, I sent them an email, I'll let you know what happens.

Yes. Unless for some reason it costs money to receive a call.

Hey, is your service really 100% free? I'm talking about the cell phone locator tool that causes my phone to ring if I give you my phone #.

    Thanks.

Well, there you go I guess... Sorry, the email is reversed, the bottom portion of course is what I sent and the top is the response, and obviously I removed my personal info from the correspondence. If you had other questions, there's the contact info and, since I received a response within minutes, I would expect you would too.

I think I missed that whole page. But anyway yea I don't have a land line and I have lost my cell in the house with no way to call it. I've bookmarked this site for future reference :)

Nope. I hate those texts more than anything and would never wish that upon anyone else.

To keep the site free, there is an ad that plays if and when you pick up the phone, but that's it. I never give out any phone numbers.

Do you ever use the phone numbers from the cell phone locator tool to sell anything? Would I get calls or texts from any kind of pay services? I know it says on your site that you keep no records of #'s called but I just want to make sure I won't end up getting sales calls or texts. Thank you!!

There's more, I figured I'd ask this too. I didn't do it the first time because I wasn't sure if I'd even get a response. But I did, very promptly, so I asked! Hope this helps! Feel free to write them yourself if you're still not sure about it.

I used it this morning - about 10 hours ago. I have not received a single text message or phone call except from friends. As for them calling to locate the phone, I have unlimited minutes, so that wouldn't cost me anything.

If I begin to get unsolicited texts or calls, I will let you know.

It will be good when you are in NC, just wanting your phone to ring...

Just stop by the website and feel special. :D

A simple warning about any of these sites - now the provider of this "service" has your cell phone number AND your internet provider info. It's a simple jump to obtain your personal information.

That is how so much info ends up being passed around, posted and sold.

(I'm an investigator; people can never understand how their personal info hits the internet. This is one of the ways.)

Lighten up. I used this site a few times and have had absolutely no adverse effects. NO unsolicited calls, no junk mail, no stalkers, and the list goes on.

If you don't like the idea of it, don't use it yourself and stop trying to dictate what others can do. I and many others have used it with no ill effects, but I guess every party has to have a pooper.

I too have used it with no ill effects. However, there is no reason to lash out at Judy. She was giving a valid warning. We should always be careful about who we give our information to.

I don't know, I'm going to keep this site in mind because I'm in college and I have access to wireless internet, but oftentimes I am home alone and we do not have a landline so if I can't find my phone I don't have a way of calling it. But I DO have a computer.
