    I think dark glass bottles are the best. They now say that the plastic leeches into the drinks. Aluminum is bad too so if you use metal bottles they should be stainless steel

    It is true for microwaved plastic and also true for soda (especially coca cola) but not water.

    Hello a:

    I do think we're kind of nuts... We used to make jokes about it... But, the other day I bought water, rocks (kitty litter), air (compressed for the computer), and dirt (for the garden).

    Believe me, when they can get you to buy water, rocks, air and dirt, it's all over.

    No way, the stuff they put in cigarettes is nasty but we don't really know the extent of it because they don't disclose it. My point was that a lot of substance are poison when taken in amounts that no reasonable person would take: caffeine, alcohol, fluoride, cinnamon, etc.

    I don't have time to look for any news articles right now but that article does say the single plastic bottles aren't a good choice.

    I hear plastic does leech if the bottle is left in the car, especially on a hot day when small amounts of plastic can leech into the water. :rolleyes:

    Yeah I knew about microwaves and reusing plastic. I have been telling people these things for years.

    And I do not believe everything that Snopes says
    I have read too many inaccuracies. They are biased just as any other site.

    Well, getting back to the poison, almost everything we consume, in it's extreme can kill, or at least damage us. Too much floride is a bad thing, too much bacon is too. An asprin is poison, take two and cure a headache, take a whole bottle and wind up in the hospital. Even sunlight causes cancer if you get too much of it, yet no sunlight at all can be harmful too.

    Common sense should prevail here, while the health effects of tap water may vary tap to tap, I feel that the water that comes out of my tap will not shave any years off my life.

    Now if you have lead pipes, or live in a location with bad water, than that would be a different story. Such as, if your town water supply was just contaminated by a oil truck overturning upstream from your resevior, than that's call to drink bottled water.

    Yea agreed everything in too much quantity will kill you, everything you do nowadays seems to do you harm in one way or another
