Okay I couldn't get on amhd today because I 'guess' it was down when I got home from work

So I started a Facebook profile. Thing is I can't find very many people on there.
So if you want to do an invitation for me I'd appreciate it. :D

    Login | Facebook

This is my Myspace, I hardly ever check it though.

MySpace - mom - 54 - Female - The dark side of Moon near The Burgh, Pennsylvania - myspace.com/formyfourangels

    Thanks

I went back to my old site help.com
I makes me appreciate this one so much more the navigation is irritating and the posts are filled with begging for money and suicides you can only read so much?
    Glad its back up
    Was that hijacking?

Nah I like to know what some good sites are and what ones to avoid.

I have purposely stayed away from the myspace/facebooks so I know nothing of them
It seems like a lot of people use them to HOOK up is it good way to stay in touch w/friends etc
What better about it than a email?

    I added you :)

I thought the same as you zippit until I actually joined a month or so ago. Now you can't get me away from it.
It's great, you can see what your friends are up to, it's a lot faster and easier than an e-mail and the games on there are addctive haha

AMHD has been up and down all day, I keep getting database errors and such :(

I hope they aren't changing the layout again :(

It seems boring to me so far but I only have 2 people added. It seems sort of hard to find people. I can't figure out how to narrow looking for people down. Like if you want to find Ann Smith it isn't letting me narrow it down to location or anything...

... I'll have to go add you now

    Can you add me again.
I don't see a request/add thing from you at all.

I hope I figure the site out :(

When you go to Facebook just click on the "home" button at the top.

Then to the right of the screen it will have your requests waiting to be confirmed :)

P.S. If my posts are missing the letter "i" a lot lately my silly keyboard has decided it is only going to type that letter half the time "rolleyes:

I think I may have accidentally clicked it delete because I had all these profile pages popping up and the pages kept changing,
I don't see it on the home page or the mail page or anywhere.

    Sorry

    Thanks

    I will keep checking

When you compare the two sites, Myspace is more of a singles bar, while Facebook is more like a family picnic. I'm on Facebook, and nearly all of my contacts are family members and my middle-aged pals.

Yeah I think it started the other way around. I like Myspace because you can be more creative with your page.

I've never had a MySpace page.

I have both family and friends on Facebook, I can't believe the amount of old school friends I have found on there, it was great!

I like the comparison of a singles bar vs a family picnic, nice :D

Just to put it out there... if any of you that are on my Facebook and you share who I am with any member here... I will accept that we will no longer be friends... I expect you to feel the same way if I ever even thought about it.
I say this with all the love in my heart... but some people are just not who you think they are. They just aren't. There are only certain people that I can trust here... you know who you are. Thanks. HUGS!
BE CAREFUL! I have already learned my lesson.

Thanks Starty, don't worry I'm the same.

I know a few peoples real names on here but I would never, ever say what they are on the public forum.

I've said my first name on here before but you aren't finding out my last :p

Hey starty, you got it right, That was my point in my post above yours. You basically give you AMHD anonymity by friending the same people on FB. If you are cool with that's OK... I'm not.

I have a few, very few, friends from AMHD on my Facebook, but like Starty and NK, I still like a little bit of anonymity.

This is so true, anonymity being the word here.

    Oh well
I see why I gave up trying to have friends in my life. Everybody likes sticking to themselves.

    TOO discouraging for me!

I guess I am better of playing another 200 games of bejeweled.

    Sorry for asking

You need to make the distinction between the internet and real life. In real life you get to meet the people who may be your friends, you see the non-verbal cues and the way they interact with others. On the internet people can put on personas that aren't really their true identity; the problem here is that their true identity can be toxic. In real life you would be able to spot this early on, not so with internet 'friends'.

I'm all for it, I mean yeah some people don't like conversing outside of this board and that's perfectly fine, I can certainly respect that, there is a fine line that people are either wary of or just don't want to cross when it comes from crossing from message board to real life.

Personally though, I have a few friends on here that I love chatting to in e-mails and on Facebook.
I just wish I lived closer so I could chat on the phone.

And N0Help, you completely whooped my butt in bejewelled, I can't get anywhere near your score haha

    Yeah exactly
I have met more characters and crazys in real life than on the internet for real!

I guess I just get lonely when I can't go any where, do anything or meet people because I only am at work and at home. Then when I rarely do get out every body is with their own little groups or cliques.

Scratch the work part for me.
It's just me and my partner at home, he goes to work, I sit on my own, we only have one car which he has to take so interaction is hard at the moment.
My friends all work so I can't see them through the week, only on the odd weekend when they are not busy doing something else...

I have a new pet peeve: People who have a job that you would kill for but all they do is whinge, complain and call in sick
I swear I am going to smack that girl silly one day soon!

Don't be sorry, and for sure you are a big part of a family here. BUT it is an internet fam and as you know some of them are closer to you than others, so you tend to trust them a little more. I think the longer one is online, the less they become "scared" of who you may be really talking to!

See I view it another way - the more a person is online the more it pulls them away from real life interpersonal relationships. I do 85% on my posting here from work while I wait for other web stuff to update.

Agreed, that is why I said when you are online too much, it gives you a sense that others may be just like you, or safe to say the least;) Through this whole time, you have pretty much remained NeedKarma... I have made a few let my info go mistakes... learned my lesson;)

Because you warned me when I posted & removed my pic in the picture thread here, I am left forever wondering if someone copied it and when will it turn up!

Kidding:D,but being overly cautious around the net is how I like it.Less personal info known the better.

Even on Facebook most people wouldn't know much personal things from looking at my profile, unless I personally told them. :p
