Tell us about your brush with a celebrity
Is there anyone out there who's got an interesting story to tell about meeting a celeb/entertainer and is keen to share? I enjoy hearing about these kind of things - bumped into... at a restaurant/met... at the beach. Something like that? Sadly I have no exciting encounters myself. Feel free to share.

I know you posted earlier about this, but sadly, living in a small town, east of Toronto does not allow me to bump into anyone other then the locals, but we do have some wonderful eateries around here. I am far to busy, and thankful to get out of the cold after work!

    Sorry, mop.

Well I met snoop doggy dog. Someone I would never really care to meet, but I find him intrigueing in ways.

He was standing outside surrounded by a bunch of screaming females. I walk up to him and simply say it was nice to meet him and give him a smile and shook his hand.

He just looked at me and smiled back and shook my hand. I took his attention away from all the screaming girls...

Oh... went to lake havasu one year. We stayed at the nautical inn. Adam corolla was there too (from loveline, the manshow).

Me and a bunch of friends went to his room. Don't remember how we ended up there. It was him and the filming crew and other workers I guess.

I expected him to be outgoing and talkative to new people, but he wasn't. :(

I met tony parker (he plays for the san antonio spurs) at Chuck E Cheeze, you know the kids pizza place. Lol. It was the first year he was with the spurs and he came in with a whole bunch of his friends, and they were all speaking french. It was really funny to see a grown man there. This was way before he met eva longoria

Well first before I tell you you have to understand that my teenage idol was Donny Osmond. I LOVED this guy. I still do.. I know I am a nerd.

Anyway when I was in my teens I pined after him, bought all his records, stayed home even in High School on Friday nights just to watch his stupid TV show. I mean I had it bad. Then he got married... So anyway in my 20's I go to the state fair and I have no idea who the entertainment was going to be. I was sitting in the bleachers and what do you know.. it was my Donny. I was enjoying his show and suddenly he gets off stage and sings all the way through the crowd and jumps into the bleachers. I KNEW he was headed to me. Well, honestly I was SCARED I wasn't one of those screaming morons I tried to have some class. I stepped back away from him but he kept coming.. he stopped singing his song and kissed me. The GREATEST part of it was that someone in the audience took a picture of it and mailed it to me. So there you go... Donny Osmond laid one on me.

Let me see, I was a friend of Loretta Lynn's daughter in law, and watched her grandson in my office before. Would see her at town from time to time.

I was one of Jimmy Carters body guards after 9/11 when he did some events in Atlanta.

I mad Hank Arron mad when I was parked in his personal parking space at Turner Field when I was doing some work there early one morning.

Gee makes you sound really old when you say Jimmy Carter and Loretta Lynn lol! (I'm sure you're as young as a 21 year old at heart right? Hehe) Speaking of body guards. I knew a guy years ago from Iran who's brother was one of Sly Stallones personal guards when he was filming in that area and he showed us a photo of the two of them. Yikes he's short as!

I did some construction work at Billy Joel's house on Long Island. I am a huge fan and was very excited. The first day I did not see him, but the front door opened at 11:00 am and a man came out, got into a car and drove away, he came back around a half hour later with lunch for us from Billy Joel. The next day we got started early, around 6:30 am. Around 8:30 am the front door opened and Billy Joel was standing there watching us. He had a huge cup of coffee and he looked like he had been partying all night. He said, " You guys start early". Then around 11:00 am the same guy left the house and came back with lunch for us, but he brought it into the house. About 15 minutes later he came and got us and we went into the back yard and ate lunch with Billy Joel on his back patio. He was an extremely down to earth guy. I will never forget that day.

I bumped into Princess Maragaret once, literally...

When I was in London about 15 years ago I was invited to a showing of some new china patterns that Lord Linley (Margaret's son) had introduced. I was looking at a display, stepped back, and "boom" backed right into Princess Margaret. Being an ignorant American, I did not recognize her. But my wife did, and was aghast. She has never let me forget it.

Due to the nature of my work as an event planner I have had a chance to interact with many celebrities and athletes. To name a few: Julia Roberts, Mel Gibson, Celine Dion, Johnny Depp, Matt Dillon, Kate Moss, Jon Bon Jovi, Halle Berry, Jimmy Buffet...

But the most memorable/embarassing moment for me was an occasion with Mick Jaggar. I was running a multi level party in Manhattan when I heard that he had just entered the building. I wanted a chance to get a look at him before he really go into the party. I was standing at the top of the 2nd floor stairs, about to go to the 1st floor to check him out when someone called my name. I turned around (back to the stairs) and said "hold on, I have to get downstairs and check out The Mick". When I spun back around to run downstairs, I literally bumpded into Mick Jagger who was waiting for me to step aside so that he could enter the party. :o:o

Celebrities, hmmm. What are we considering a celebrity?

Hubby and I honeymooned in Hawaii, while we where there they opened Planet Hollywood right around the corner from our hotel.

We got to meet a lot of celebs. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny Glover, Sylvester Stallone, and others.

My friend was on Jay Leno once, does that count? ;)

I got to hang out with Pete Rose for an entire day. Well hang out is the wrong word. I was his gofer at a baseball card show when I was 11 years old . My uncle ran the show and said whatever Pete wants you get you know get him food and drinks but I didn't have to place bets with his bookie. Very nice guy I sat next to him the entire show. He talked to me and things like that. I still have the autographed baseball he gave me. It was a cool day.

I am also in a few music video's of a couple different hip hop groups I am sure no one on here has ever heard of.

I spent a couple hours talking to the late Tony Snow - anchor of Fox News. He was a great man. Funny though, the convention that he was at was running behind and his wife kept calling, telling him dinner was almost ready, ready, getting cold, and in the fridge! :)

Also, the song My Town by Montgomery Gentry? Its about my town! I don't know how many times I've seen Eddie Montgomery in the skating rink, at Cici's Pizza, around town. He has this big black truck... and rather an impatient driver! :)

Wow! A day with Pete Rose - that must have been the highlight of your life! Personally I am much more in awe of athletes than "celebreties".

I am a big, big Mets fan (can we still be friends?). They won the 86 WS on my 16th birthday. I have since met and spoken to Ron Darling, Keith Hernandez, Darryl Strawberry and Gary Carter. Those were all huge moments for me.

The outsidaz, about 2:40 seconds in you see me jumping up and down in a white T-shirt. Jurassic 5 I am at the end of this video with a black hoodie on behind the DJ's in front of the buses. They filmed my part for 3 hours after a concert one night and only like 20 seconds of that 3 hours is in the video.

It was one of the best day's of my life. We can still be friends. My best friend is from NY and he is a HUGH Mets fan. I agree I have always been into sports and I admire Athletes more then movie stars. I actually met Troy Vincent at my 8 year old cousin's football game his son and my cousin played on the team. He is a real nice guy.

In the early 90's, while patrolling in uniform at a downtown galleria,
A fellow officer and I saw Robert Wagner, who was apparently in town for
The Kentucky Derby. He was wearing a trench coat and had a hat pulled
Down low over his eyes, but we both recognized him. We asked for and both
Got his autograph. He's been in movies, one or more with his late
Wife, Natalie Wood, and was in the TV series, "Hart to Hart," with Stephanie
Powers. A few years later, in 1995, the same officer and I had our
Pictures taken with Muhammad Ali while he was here promoting his new
Museum. We had to pay for the pictures, but they were large (8" x 10")
And mine is framed and hangs in my living room.

I am no longer excited by the experience of meeting someone famous. When I see one, I walk the other way to make room... Then they are surrounded and have their hand shaken so firmly that it hurts. They're humans.

1980? 81? I was in england visiting my grandmother. Her husband had connections and got me and my brother into EMI studios. They were filming The Dark Crystal. We saw Jim Henson directing a scene.. got to walk on the set of another scene. Found George Lucas' office (we all took turns sitting in his chair! LOL and he had some cool stuff from star wars in a case there) then wandering around we spotted a room in the back where they were making costumes for the Snowtroopers (star wars).. no sooner did we peek in, some lady came SPRINTING OVER and slammed the door shut :) lol

1986? - the company my mom worked for hosted a huge benefit for Veterans and MIA etc... the had a private screening of Platoon. Afterwards there was a dinner... Willem Dafoe was there! I got to talk to him and got his autograph. Very cool.

1987? In LAX airport... I saw Robin Williams - he had left his wife and he was there with the Nanny (He looked miserable!)

1989? Had a run in why Trey Anastasio (Phish) - Me and my best friend had wandered into the outdoor stadium at CCFL - Phish was warming up and practicing. We watched for like a 1/2 hour before someone noticed. Trey came up and said he was really sorry but we had to leave.. :) fun while it lasted!

1990? I met Mike Gordon (Also Phish) in an after show party... nice guy.

Then in 07 I was in Hollywood (LA for work) and we went out to dinner... I swear the girl at the next table was Meadow from the sopranos. Not possitive but I'm pretty sure... bummer was NO ONE I was eating with watched the show so I couldn't confirm it!

After a show when Maroon 5 was just getting popular we were first in line to get their autographs..

The lead singer was a total Jerk, he thought he was already too good for us.. and he had a lot of freckles yuck, but the drummer (who is no longer with them) signed my arm and he kept smiling at me even though 100's of girls were around.. he was sooo HOT!!

I can't believe someone on here has met Johnny Depp!! I would pee my pants if I got to meet him.. he's the most goregeous man ALIVE!
