I have to admit that I am learning to bite my tongue, a pretty mean trick for a 37 year old. I guess you can teach an old mom new tricks.
My husband says I'm like Dr. Phil, I might not always be sweet about it but I will tell you exactly what I think. The trick is to be able to tell people to go to H**l and make them be happy to be on their way. I haven't mastered that yet, most people ask me to join them on the journey.:)
I agree Alty, you're perfectly percolated :)
HChicky - you're such a sweetie.:)
You're both my coffee buddies and have never been on the bad side of Alty. I just don't have any patience for ignorance or stupidity. I guess the world has left me a bit jaded.
I do adore you guys. I'm so blessed to have run into many more intelligent, well rounded people than I have the others, it keeps me grounded. I know I would really miss you guys if I couldn't chat with you. I'll try my best to keep that from happening.
I have four kids and a husband, I just don't have time to "beat around the bush" so to speak, I understand completely as a mother to mother and as a 33 year old... we never can learn enough so if you have to bite your tongue once, then do it at the perfect time... ;) We do know how to pick our battles right?
But Starty, (like it? Alty and Starty - everything is made better with the addition of a "y" or an "ie" - HC rule) don't you think that as successful, smart, witty, beautiful 30 something (I'm almost there) women, we would know what is right and sane? I mean, we have good heads on our beautiful shoulders and have sane, rational opinions for those that desire to hear! Granted, some ask in STUPID ways, but really, we do have good things to say and yes, we pick out battles. :)
And drown our wickedness in coffee! :)
(I went on an extended lunch... feeling more like myself! Thanks girls! Still love my hunky Canadian! ;) )
You have four kids? Sorry, after reading that my only thought was, I am not worthy.
I can barely get through the day with only two how do you manage four? Do you manage four, or do they manage you? What happens when they realize that there are more of them than there are of you? Start, you are amazing.
You are right, I do know how to pick my battles, but apparently sometimes the battles also know how to pick me. Oh well, all is good. I'm still here, for now. Hee, hee.
HC- What did you have for lunch? Not the hunky Canadian?
As soon as I wrote that, that was my thought! Hehehe...Quote:

I stopped at The SB on my way back to work for an ice coffee... perfect day for it... no one would ever guess that we had 6" of snow on Saturday!
I'm still open for the "hunky Canadian for lunch" though in case you find one that's free! :D
Free as in available or free as in no cost? I need to know either way so I can start my search. ;)
My husband is a hunky Canadian, or is that chunky? I forget. :p Anyway, he's off the market, unless he neglects to fix my car door again today, then I might be willing to negotiate.:D
Awww the more the merrier... they are pretty cool kids coming from starty... LOL
HAHA! Free as in available... those are the only ones that appeal to me... none of that other stuff. A girl has to have her standards and mine is "not attached, not taken, available, single, alive"... OK, I'll throw in "good sense of humor, likes history, isn't intimidated by a successful woman who knows more about American Civil War history than he probably will ever hope to know, OK with cats, likes impulsive chicks, loves museums, adores international travel, likes a wide array of music... " alright, alright, Ken doesn't exist, does he??
Did I say "cute tush" too? ;)
Oh, and coffee is a must. A love for coffee is almost as important as a love for history. Almost.
I spit out my coffee when I saw ALIVE... LMAO LOLOLOLOL:DQuote:

I guess my hubbies definitely out, on many counts;
1. He's definitely attached, to me and hopefully to my car door until he fixes it.
2. Doesn't know diddly about History.
3. Allergic to cats (so is my son).
4. The last time we went to the museum he asked for a wheelchair because he was tired.
5. He hates coffee, that's okay, more for me.
On the other hand, he is alive (and he'll stay that way if he fixes my car door), he has a great sense of humor (otherwise he wouldn't be able to handle me), he likes to travel and the tush is salvageable.
Sorry, he doesn't have a younger brother, but if you know anyone who's willing to take his sister far far away, let me know.:p I'm not kidding.;)
;)We do what we can... LOLQuote:

:D Thanks Starty... yes, I know. And believe me, I'm very content waiting. My life is crazy right now - and all that entails. Funny though, don't know if I'll ever find another man that is actually content to sit and watch me pore over books about war... its quite odd, really. My dream would be to go back to school and get another Masters (in Military History) and a PhD in Public History.Quote:

You better believe it, HChicky, you're going to meet the man of your dreams some day, and he will be alive, I promise you.;)
A smart wonderful girl like you, I personally know many men that would kill for the chance to meet you. When are you coming to Canada, I'll personally introduce you. Heck, I'll even phone the county and get the number for the snow plow guy. Don't hold your breath though, he's gorgeous, and alive (last time I saw him anyway), but he's probably not the sharpest tool in the shed. They're usually missing one ingredient, I'd rather go for intelligent than gorgeous. My favorite line is; Beauty fades, dumb is forever.
LOL... Alty, aren't you lucky!
I hope he gets your dang car fixed, I have been there, actually I am there right now...
I love history and war movies and reading about it... I love it, don't know much but love to listen and read about it! WOW, that is what it does it all just WOW's me...
Well Starty and HChicky - It's time for me to do some housework, Ugh! I'll talk to the two of you later. Have a great day and drink lots of coffee, or wine, or whatever gets you through this Monday.
Aufwiedersehen,
Alty
Zai jian, Alty!
Have a great afternoon - have a coffee for me :)
Bye... lolQuote:

Well, until you threw in the "good looking" aspect, I actually had a guy in mind for you, HC!
He's NOT a Chippendale's candidate, but smart, funny, intelligent, and single.
Good looking is relative... :)Quote:

(I know a LOT of single guys--great guys, just not on the "A" list for looks)
All right, I'm liking you even more Synn... I respected you before, now I'd like to sit you down and pick your brain!Quote:

Ummm... should I be scared?
I'm married to a geek. I know a lot of great guys because geeks flock together, AND geeks generally have a hard time approaching women.
I'm also 33--an age where most of my female friends are married with kids. So... I'm always on the lookout for smart women to introduce to my guy friends :)
I'll email him the little blurb above.
Well, you just gave me a smile...Quote:

Do they make spicy lattes? I am going nuts now... never mind.
Synn, you are nice to help a girl (lady, or woman whatever you prefer HChicky) out up there... LOL Good luck with all that!
Ahhh... the sweet caffeinated nectar has once again worked its magic upon my attitude :)
Morning, all!
MORNING! Is that hazelnut I smell? Yes. Yes it is.
Close! :) Southern Pecan... mmm...
You?

Was looking for my morning quote and felt in a "shakespeare mood" - "Love looks not with the eyes, but with the heart." Beautiful, isn't it? :)
Mmmm... cranberry cream.
I just want to say I'm suffering from too much out-of-bedness and not enough coffeeness.
A few caffeine quotes... enjoy! I'm off to a meeting, armed with my cup o' cheer!
I believe humans get a lot done, not because we're smart, but because we have thumbs so we can make coffee. ~Flash Rosenberg
Decaffeinated coffee is the devil's blend. ~Author Unknown
Coffee smells like freshly ground heaven. ~Jessi Lane Adams
Behind every successful woman is a substantial amount of coffee. ~Stephanie Piro
My coffee chicks are MIA! (oh, Sneezy too! :) ) This is sad...
Bedness? K... lol
Love the quotes HC... have fun at your meeting and don't be too bossy lady! My nothes is still stuffy, but I am going to make it, no doubt about that!
