Were you the fourth the Stringer? Beware of the cheese, no one cut it!
I am pretty weird.
I used to go around bus stops and look for change- one time I ended up with $20 after a day of scouting. I haven't done this since I had my daughter [she's two now] but I always keep my eye out for that shiny quarter laying around somewhere- maybe this summer I'll take her out for some nice "walks" :p
I once saw this guy at a laundry mat carrying this magnetic object which he put under the machines which collected coins- I was impressed.
I also like to make scenarios up [for fun], for example:
Me [to my husband]: "What if you were walking down the street and this old lady with an elephant came up to you and offered you a ride, and the elephant would take you anywhere and anytime but in exchange you'd have to give up your left eyebrow"
Husband: "Umm..." [walks away slowly]
I know I do more weird things but I can't put my finger on them since it seems normal to me... I'll have to ask my husband- he's normal, whatever normal means.
MRS.S
MUD,
That was the funniest story! It takes a pretty weird person to even come off the cuff like that!
Thanks for making me laugh! :P
Speaking of Tio, there was a Korean woman I used to work with. She always showed up for work in spotless clothes and polished white shoes... We worked in a kitchen. She also always won really big at the horse races and spoke perfect, accentless English even though she was raised in Korea.
Anyway, nothing pointless ever came out of her mouth and there are two things she said that stick with me: "It's never enough" (money) and, "just keep going" (when you feel overwhelmed by the work in front of you) Thanks, Soon Young.
Greetings weird people!
I am enjoying this thread so much.
Also wondering if I am in the least bit weird! Especially since I am spying on this weird thread without comment.. :D
Thanks Ex!
One thing I have noticed is that I tend to correct grammatical errors when others are talking, sometimes out loud, but mostly in my head.
Often happens when the conversation is in our native language.
I got to think about my weird thing a little and I'll get back to you. I'm 51 yrs. Old so I know I've got them.
What struck me most about your post is this. All through our lives certain people or certain events, strike us hard. It can be a very insignificant saying or gesture that means nothing really, but to us, for whatever reason, it sticks. Just this morning, a friend reminded me of something I told her more than 25 yrs ago, that she always says to herself. I don't even remember saying it, but she refers to it all the time. We never know when we are going to effect or even change some one's life. A little lesson? Make sure it is for the better.:)
I can't stand wearing anything to bed that isn't slippery. Don't laugh, I know what you are thinking. It isn't that. My PJs have to be the kind of silky material that don't bind you up in bed to the point where you can't roll over or move around properly. If I don't have them, I don't sleep. I guess this isn't weird enough though.
OK, here's another one. If I get held up coming home by a train at a crossing it is usually the GO train (the express passenger along the lake between Ottawa and Oshawa). When I do I always say out loud "the 3:10 to Yuma". It got to be a habit... I give up.
Tick (silently creeping off... )
