I'm 37 so the college diet is a thing of the past. I'm a mother of two very inquisitive kids and a beer is definitely called for today. The pizza sounds like a definite possibility. Kids, do you want mommy to make pizza? Who am I kidding, do you want mommy to order pizza?

Can I just say that people who are happy this morning should be shot.

    Taken outside and SHOT.

    Grrrr...

Alarm clock didn't go off this morning - Daylight Savings Time confused it - and I got up a half hour late... turns out that half hour is directly proportional to the amount of time it takes for the caffeine to sink into my bloodstream. Grr... When I don't have that half hour buffer, EVERYONE is stupid. Drivers. Co-workers. Gas station attendants. Nazi crossing guards. Stop lights.

    Rah...

HC - I'm sorry that you're in a grump today, what can I do to cheer you up?

    How about this;

People ask me if I wake up grumpy in the morning... I reply----No, I just bring her some coffee!! :p

Hope your day turn out better than it started.:)

Because I was late, I didn't get to stop at Starbucks... rah... granted, I have already consumed a full pot, plus my commuter cup, but still... rah...

HC - What can I do? Should I track down the hunky snow plow guy? Would that help? I'd go to Starbucks for you if I could, but that's quite the trip.

Smile my dear friend, just remember; whenever you think it can't get any worse, that's when you stub your toe on your desk.

LOL! A stubbed toe on the desk... cute.

Ooo... I had forgotten about the hunky Canadian snow plow guy... smiling... :)

Thanks Alty... Now if you could just email me some coffee, I'd be set!

I'm willing to give it a try but I don't want to wreck my computer. It's a nice computer, it's real pretty.

Wouldn't you rather I send you a picture of the hunky, sexy, Canadian snow plow guy?

I am so going to ignore the obvious "between the lines" on that one and pass on to the beautiful coffee picture... ;)

(when I get in this cranky-pants mood, my inner demon surfaces... and lands me in the gutter... Off to my meeting! Thinking of Hunky snow plow guys who can't fit in the mail slot and coffee... :D)

Nope, not in bed, wish I were, not feeling so good and I got some kiddos coming later on! And work later on after the first later on... then clean up the house from me being at work later after the second later on... LMAO I am out of control...

Hey Start - Thanks for the yummy man pictures, you made my day. I couldn't help but notice that there wasn't a snow plow in site, but hopefully HC won't pick up on that.

I'm also cleaning house today. When am I not cleaning house? I need a maid, I am the maid. I feel so used. All the hubby and kids do is make a mess, apparently they think a little fairy comes and cleans it up when they're not looking. This little fairy has had it, I'm going on strike. Let's see how they do when they run out of clean undies.:D

    I woke up late too.

And my best friend and I are fighting.

BUT... I have coffee. And it's supposed to get in the 30s today! AND--I saw geeses flying NORTH this morning!

I tried to explain that my Google fingers couldn't find the snow and the hunk... just the snow or just the hunk, so I figured she was mostly interested in the hunk and posted that! LOL
Anyway... the fairy thing, I can relate totally relate to going on strike... I want to but I just know it will all get done half-azz and I will have to go back and do it ALL all over again, so really what's the point? I just don't see myself letting the house get dirty just so they can pretend to do something and then me go over it... Oh gosh, I think I may be grumpy again... going back to post #216 to get back on track... (I need more starbucks coffee) LMAO:D

Hey Synnen - I'm waiting for the geese to come back. I can't wait to see the first Robin Red breast, then I'll now that spring is really here. I do have a fairly nice patch of grass visible in my yard now, unfortunately it's brown, but give it time.

I'm on my second cup of coffee, I ran out of milk which is a must for me so I'm suffering right now. Nobody knows the trouble I've seen, nobody knows my sorrow. I need a cow so that I can have a constant supply of milk. Do you think the neighbors would mind a cow? I'd share the milk.

Hope it all works out for you!
I sat in the sun for three hours watching the boys shoot their BB gun out side at a big ole orange soda bottle... (never knew a 13 year old, 4 and 6 year old had sooo much in common) :D

    Cows are smelly and messy.

Get a courier to run for milk when you're out--it would probably be cheaper than a cow.

Do you do the "Three snows on a Robin's tail" thing? I can't wait to see a robin too! Then I know it'll only snow three more times!
  • Mar 10, 2008, 08:48 AM

I've never heard of the "Three snows on a Robin's tail" what is it? I like the idea of a courier getting me milk, can it be a hunky, gorgeous courier or would that be pushing it?

Synnen, I do have an unrelated question and since you're here on this thread I thought I'd just ask you instead of sending a private message or starting a new thread.

I am fairly new to this site, is it okay for me to request that someone not use text talk and all caps on their post? I hope it is because I just did it. Don't worry I was really nice about it. I just can't stand any more text talk, I'm to old to learn how to decipher it. Also, the all caps is hard to read and a bit rude. I hope I didn't cross the line, I'm just so fed up with it.

Nope, not unrelated... because... if people would simply have the courtesy to not use the "dancing colors" (love it Tempy) and the idiotic text talk, we wouldn't have to resort to so much coffee to interpret...

Ok, it's a stretch, but I'm the OP! It's my coffeeshop, darnit! :D

As long as you're polite about it, it's fine. I do it all the time, especially in Adult Sexuality, where I have to determine whether someone is 18 or older or not.

Basically, the tradition of three snows on a Robin's tail is just that--once you see a robin, it will only snow 3 more times before spring comes.

    It's generally pretty accurate :)

I've never heard that, Synn! Crud... I saw a Robin the other day... does that mean there are two more snows? Nashville was almost shut down Saturday with the freak snowstorm... all 6" of it!!

Being a Yankee, I'm not afraid of the snow, nor am I afraid to drive in it, but golly! The people around here are crazy!

Course, the snow was gone Sunday and it is now a beautiful 55 degrees...

Darnit, where are the Robin's? I cannot stomach the idea of it snowing even once more much less three. I hate snow!:D

As for the request to stop using text speak, I was polite about it, which is new for me.;) But the request went ignored. Oh well I tried. I've got to start following my own advice and stop reading posts that irritate the heck out of me. Where's my coffee? I need another cup.

Hey, if I do follow my advice then I'll be answering allot less posts, maybe I can finally catch up on my laundry. Why would I want to do that?

Going to make another pot. Cheers to you all my coffee loving buds.

I haven't seen a robin yet... but it's supposed to be beautiful the next few days, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

One thing I miss about Texas is sitting on the deck in the morning with my coffee, watching and listening to the birds.

EDIT: Alt--the "report inappropriate post" is your friend in that case. You've tried--now bring it to a moderator's attention.

    Thanks Synnen.

I have a deck but I live in Canada so I only get to enjoy it for 3 months (if I'm lucky). Summers here can be beautiful but winters are harsh. We actually had a few weeks were the weather dipped to -35 degrees celsius, not sure how to convert it for you guys, but just let me say, it's darn cold.

HC - You're lucky, I have yet to see a Robin. Heck, I'm so desperate for spring I'm even looking forward to the Seagulls coming back. If they get into my garbage again this year there will be a few less coming back in 2009.

Today is turning out pretty nice though, I can hear the snow melting off the roof. I'm not getting too exited though. If there's one thing you learn when living in Canada it's
"If you don't like the weather, wait a minute." Really, it can snow, rain and be sunny all in a 24 hour period. I kid you not.

    More coffee for me.

... I'm beginning to think that maybe I should lay off sbucks for a little bit.

Economy's doing horribly. People are slowly starting to cut back on their daily expenses... for me, I calculated that I spend about $200 a month on coffee alone.

... is it a tough decision? Absolutely.

... you're right. You've all convinced me. I just won't go out to eat anymore. Coffee is one of those "necessary" goods... right next to clothing and shelter.

    That was a close one.

Phew! That was a close one Sneezy! I've thought of it too... but I don't eat out at all, so its my one vice... and for me, its SURVIVAL! :)

Ah... being the college student living in the city, I tend to go out to eat something like 3 - 4 times a week... and most of my friends are from well-to-do families where their parents pay for everything... so... I end up spending $20 - 30 a dinner. It's painful.

... not to mention the ever-so-climbing gas prices...

Hee, Hee, you think I'm funny.:D

I love my coffee, it is a necessary evil that I require to be a pleasant person. I'm not always pleasant on this site, I sometimes get a bit carried away and don't stop myself from sending a post that I know isn't very nice. Let's face it though, some people really need a good dose of reality, why should I sugar coat it?

Having said that, can you imagine how nasty I'd be if I didn't have coffee? Perish the thought, I'd be kicked of this site. That would be tragic, maybe not for all of you, but I'd miss you guys allot.

Don't make me leave please, I promise I'll be good. Or at least I'll try.:o
