    It's insane!

I love sending packages but it's just getting so expensive!

Even buying from e-bay I find myself checking the postage price more than the item price because sometimes it's as much as the item costs, if not more!

Perhaps she has a "snaggle tooth" that allows for extra toy carriage... :)

    Toooo cute! :D:D:D:D:D
Baby Danes are just so adorable, especially when they are about 2-3 months!

Is that one a Harley or another Merle?

Oh we don't get to pick her up yet. We just picked her out. She's a harlequin, Shaz, and you know I didn't think about it until after my husband said something, but we're going to call her Harley. I've already got a little collar for her and we can't wait to bring her home. Zoe has no idea that she's going to have a little sister but she was pretty upset with us when we came home smelling like puppies yesterday. It was hilarious. She wouldn't even look at my husband.

Ah, the jealousy of our dogs... I still remember when a pup would come into my yard. My dog would be jealous of the pup! Like putting her jaws round the neck of the pup, which would shriek! Had to give the pup to somebody else... And that happened twice!

    That's no good Unky :(

Danes are pretty happy-go-lucky dogs, they love having play mates.
We were going to get a Harelquin.. until my mum bought her Dane and we remembered how much they drooled :p

Just be careful when she's little and don't leave them home alone together until the pup is bigger ;)

Yeah, if anyone has good ideas on how to introduce a puppy to a dog about a year old, I'm all ears. I don't want Zoe to have jealousy issues at all. The main reason we wanted to get another dog is so Zoe has a playmate. Zoe won't be ignored, so that's not an issue, but I don't want to give them too much freedom at first. I don't want to leave them alone together unattended until Harley is bigger and we know they're OK together.

Yeah, I know I'm not going to be doing that. I don't want the puppy to get hurt. We must have posted at the same time.

Anyway, the we kept the pups for a week or so, they were so cute! My mom would allow us to keep more dogs though. Providing food for one dog was much, and for two...

    Haha yep, same time...

My suggestion would be to invest in a baby gate and a puppy pen... best two things I ever bought.

Start introducing them outside with Zoe on a leash and the pup in the puppy pen.

That way you have full control of what is going on and no-one gets hurt, intentionally or accidentally.

Introducing them on neutral ground would be best but parks are out because the pup wouldn't have all her vaccinations.
Your front yard would be your best bet (providing zoe usually goes in the backyard)

Once they have been introduced outside you can bring them into "Zoes house" and have the babygate separating them.

Eventually when they have both calmed down and gotten used to each other you can introduce them completely.

That's how I would do it, but of coarse, you can adapt it to what suits you best :)

I know the feeling there, I think we spend more $$$ a week on dog food than we do food for ourselves

Good ideas! Thanks! We have baby gates and pens already so that's not an issue. When we get her she will be vaccinated though. Maybe a park isn't a bad idea. I thought about maybe taking Zoe over to the breeder's house when we pick her up.

Excellent, pens and gates are a lifesaver with a new pup.
Their last vaccination isn't until they are aeound 12 weeks so it's best to avoid areas where strange dogs have been until then ;)

Oh. Gotcha! I thought you meant she wouldn't have any of her shots when we got her.
