You know what though Stringy? I kept it for a second car until just this past spring. It was a back-up car for me, just in case. My brothers stepkid inherited it from me free of charge, just to use for awhile, and he ended up totaling it. That car, (an '86 I believe) very rarely broke down on me. If I forgot to plug it in, in the winter, I never had a problem starting it. The only things that really broke down were the things like auto windows or wipers, that cost a couple bucks for a new fuse.

Now I have an expensive Ford Windstar, that always needs something! I've always gone with Ford, but this one hasn't given me much luck. I want my first car back! It was a '64 and a half, Mustang! First edition! 4 speed stick on the floor, 289 engine. Waaaaaaaaaaa! :( I want my Mustang back! Won lots of races with that car!

The Jag I had in the 80's was so nice, and I know I'll never have another one like it. While driving, you could hear yourself think because it was so nice and quiet.. and then there was the 'cruise control' button, when I pushed it, it felt like the baby was spreading out wings to start flying - and believe me, on the German Autobahns, one could fly.. at 130-160 Kilometers/hr and not worry about getting a ticket. Those were the days!

In my young and dumb days, I told myself that that was the way I wanted my life to end, fast and down a cliff in a Jag.. even joked about it a lot. It sure would have been better than slowly sitting on life's death-row like I am now.

But I wouldn't trade a moment now, because I would have missed my daughter growing up to be a beautiful woman and mother and my grandson and getting to know all of you wonderful people. And that's what is keeping me going... till the last minute. Your love and encouragement means a lot to me.

Stringer.. now you've got me excited like a kid waiting for X-mas, wow!

I was always a muscle car girl Cher. We had an area in town (illegal and dangerous, but we did it, lol) where we would do the 1/4 mile. I used to win lots of money with my car! I love the old the vintage muscle cars. My van is just transportation... well it's not even that is it! If I won the lottery, one of the first the on my list would be a pre 70's California edition Mustang GT. RED... BRIGHT RED! Second choice would be a 67 or 68 Camaro! :D

I really love you guys more and more every day:):):)

Oh we did that too! Well not in my Mustang we didn't, lol. But oh yeah! I remember going up the side of a cliff one time and flipping on our side, and it was winter and we started to slide! Never been so scared in my life! Just now caught this thread... I had no idea.

*sigh* I f'ing hate cancer. Personal, close hate.

But a great man once told me "we are too short lived and too long gone to live our lives frustrated and angry". He was gone two weeks after telling me that, and it still resonates through me.

Every day with a loved one is a gift. Every moment that makes you smile is pure joy. We just get in our own way most of the time to really life live as we need to.

    Love you momma c.

Knowing you, listening to your advice, even through this distant connection, makes me a better man. And that's something worth saying out loud.

Know how you feel. Gosh I even freak when Alexander jumps on the couch now and he's just starting and it's not even a 'real' adrenalin fix yet.

I tried looking for the Jag that I had and couldn't find it. It had a gas tank on each side (in the back naturally), coupe style, and the cat on the front. The headlights were round and the color was metallic chocolate brown. I remember it had XJ6... something on it, but still cannot find it.

    Start and Starby...
... as for hoping your kids won't do what you did.. they won't.. they'll do differently with different cars and bikes. We can only hope and bite our nails to the quick until they come home safely. Jaime had a fast Alfa Romeo when she met Dan, sold the car to him, and when she had Alex, she switched to a 'safer' car and does not drive as fast as she used to. She raced on the autobahns before and now is very careful (she's a mom). I used to run in rallies before I had her and then turned into a part-time 'safe' driver, but still loved those fancy wheels. So, just teach your kids to 'try' and be safe and that you 'trust' them... all the while having a nervous breakdown until they walk into the door and are safely home... we can do no more than that, hon.

I have always wanted a Mustang, there is one just like your's in yellow around the corner. There is just something about the Mustang that sticks with you.. My brother had a 1986 Ford Capri Mk III 1.6 Laser and that was as close as we got to power and style - nice.

I had a Corvette Stingray, bright metallic orange - fast, but too hard to handle and loud. The only Mercedes that ever impressed me was the one a friend of mine had - was an 'oldie' but beautiful... Mercedes-Benz 300SL 2 door convertible. I had fun helping him polish it - at 19 yrs of age, I guess I got easily impressed.

Ok, enough about cars already, it's late, and we've got things to do, or sleep to catch up on.

But I tell you, this was fun! Music, cars,. what's next? I'm open to all subjects we share with each other.

Good, I'm glad.....it's nothing big...but something that fits you EXACTLY...I am excited too, like I said we will get it mailed in the next day or two...promise.

I have had many cars, many were fast and cool but the one that I miss the most (start, you know this already) was my Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum she was a dark forest green with two white bumble bee strips on the end. Exactly like the one in this picture except the color. Four on the floor, roared like a mean lion, 400 horse power... damn the gas pedal was nine inches off the floor board. NOTHING, nothing could touch her... loved that car. Bought it in 1970 and it had low mileage and was "cherry." I polished her so much you could see two feet into the finish...

    Almost Chery... almost.

I only lost one race in that car... first time I raced. Off the line I floored it and sat there burning tire and fish tailing left to right... I couldn't get it off the line. Made the adjustments by getting off the line a lot slower and then hit it... never lost again... I literally LOVED that puppy... and she was always spotless... inside and out.

And those pipes... man.. she roared with a deep growl...

Man... what a feeling this has brought back... feels great...

    UPDATE:

Dearest unknown... I finally received your card from Mauritius! Beautiful picture of the Paradise Hotel beach. Thanks... it made it, and yes, we will meet one day, I promise!

Friend4U, After going through the customs inspection, and probably dog sniffing, at the Frankfurt Airport, a cute little kitty arrived at my door today. Manx survived the trip in great condition and he made friends with my Larry right away. Larry checked him out and even let Manx rub him behind the ears, so I know they both will get along just fine. Manx brought two postcards with him too.
Thank you so much M. I promise I will care for him well and pass him on to loving hands of my grandson later. I will probably take a picture of him and post it here sometime next week.

Just got back from infusion therapy and this time my arms did not swell up. Pneumonia was confirmed again and getting antibiotics for it now. I hope that the side-effects will be less this time so that I can enjoy the coming weekend with my whole family - it will probably be the last time. Although my brother wants to come from Vegas on Christmas and has asked me to hold on until then... I will give it my best to do so, I promise. I just hate what my dumb body is doing to me, but will not give up so easily - never have. So, cross your fingers, light candles, and send me good vibes in your spare time - they mean so much to me.

Going to rest up for a while now and be back later.. Even a few hours on my feet seem like days on a long march.. going to try to do some inner eyelid exercises and hope it brings down some of the swelling and puts me to sleep.

    C.U. later.

Sure is dear. I tried to find my Dad's side of the family but no luck. He was born there in 1927 (I think) and left there to join the Army, met my Mom in Germany in the 50's, and was also in Korea. After that I had no luck in finding him. I was told that I have a 1/2 sister who was born exactly one year before me on the same day, 22 January... He is the one who insisted that I have the first name that I have and loved me dearly until my mom threw him out of her life.. Maybe if I PM you his full name, your friends might have luck in finding my 'kin' there, if any exist. It would be nice to know.. Do you think Hazard has any postcards??
