I like how you're saying that you've been taught that americans are mean and hateful. Definitely shows that you've been influenced by a stereotype that SOME canadians may seem to have against americans. Then you go on to say that americans shouldn't have stereotypes of americans, and insult us.

Here's a thought... some people are arses, no matter where you live. Some people are nice, no matter where you live. How about we just leave it at that?
